What is Quarantine?
Everyone at Humaniplex.com starts out in Quarantine.
This just means that until you are released, you can observe other members of the community, but you can only interact with the rest of the community on a very limited basis.
You can not send or receive private messages and you can not create your own blog posts, but you can still comment on other people's blog posts and create classifieds. The catch with commenting on others' blogs and creating classifieds while in Quarantine is that the comments and classifieds are themselves Quarantined.
What that means is that your interaction is not visible to the community at large. Let's say you post a classified ad to sell some pogs, but you are still in Quarantine. Your classified will be active, but only visible to users with voting rights (aka "influence"). Those voting members can vote to release your comments or classifieds. Once enough votes are accumulated, the comment or classified becomes visible to everyone.
Why Should I Get Out of Quarantine?
Besides the obvious reasons, you get a lot more:

Secure Private Messaging |

When you send a message across the Internet, usually your message will stick around SOMEWHERE. Forever.
With HX self-destructing messages, you can be assured that something private you send will be gone forever, either at a time you specify, or when the recipient of your message reads it. Once your criteria are met for self-destruction.  Kaboom. It is gone forever.

Password Protected Private Messaging |

Not satisfied with a message destroying itself after it is read? Are you concerned about extremely sensitive information being seen by someone you don't intend?
Encrypted (aka password protected) private messages are your answer. Just set a password that both you and the recipient agree on, and your message is encrypted. It can't be read unless you know the password to unscramble the message.

Unrestricted Chat |

As a Quarantined member, you may only participate in chat in one room.
As a normal released member, you don't have to just be a voiceless wallflower in the other regional rooms. You have full chatting rights in any room.

Profiles and Pictures |
|
You will be able to update your HX profile and store pictures in your HX photo album.
All normal released members are given a small picture quota to start with, so you can share some pictures immediately upon release.
In addition, you will be able to set up your "sandbox". Which is a free single page website that is completely under your control.

Clubs |
|
Although even Quarantined members can join clubs, the same blog restrictions apply, even within clubs you are a member of.
Once you are free, you can participate normally in clubs, and perhaps even own one, if the community decides (via network ratings), that you can handle it.

Share Your Opinion |

Quarantined members may not log network ratings on other members.
Once released from Quarantine, you are free to log network ratings (assuming you can pass the Network Aptitude Quiz).

How Do I Get Out of Quarantine?
There are 3 ways to get released from Quarantine.
1) You can purchase FXPoints in any amount. Doing this will release you instantly, granting you full access to the interactive features of this site, such as being able to send private messages and post blogs and classifieds that are visible to everyone. You will also receive FXPoints that you can use to activate special powers like making your classifieds stay at the top of the page and search results.
2) You can participate in a limited fashion for awhile. Eventually, other members of the community with voting rights might be willing to vote to let you out. But you won't have FXPoints to spend unless somebody gives them to you.
3) If you have a friend who is a normal unquarantined member already, and has FXPoints to spend, they can use their FXPoints to Liberate you from Quarantine instantly.
Can I Be Put Back in Quarantine?
No! Quarantine is a starting state. Once you are out, you stay out. The community can NOT put you back in. But they can still vote to Mute or Excommunicate you, so you should still behave and act like an adult.
