Wham! (again)
From the today's news: Wham!'s "Last Christmas" has become the UK's Christmas number one for a second consecutive year. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley's festive classic beat songs by Mariah Carey, Gracie Abrams, Tom Grennan and Ariana Grande to top the chart.
This is something that British people do that Americans think makes no sense. British people get excited about the top Christmas song of the year.
It is the 40th anniversary of this song. "Last Christmas" was release on December 3, 1984.
I was sixteen years old when this song came out. (I'm 56 years old now. See how that works?) Wham!'s song "Careless Whisper" was at the top of the chart at the time.
What we know now but what we didn't know at the time was that George Michael was gay. That fact was held as a secret at the time. We didn't find out that George Micheal was gay until years later. I don't know if Andrew Ridgeley, who, I assume, is still alive, is gay. There was always something a little off with Wham!'s songs. Wham!'s songs never made sense coming from a pair of heterosexual guys. Wham!'s songs, however, made perfect sense coming from a gay man.
Rest in peace, George Michael.

HX Awards Show 2024
I am thinking about renting SoFi Stadium for tomorrow's show. 
I need help with the award categories.
There should be categories proposed by men. There should also be categories proposed by women. We could have categories proposed by others too.
I am sure that the women of HX will come up with categories that will make me squirm.

Green-eyed French boy got me tripp'n
Lisa is a K-pop singer with Blackpink. I take it that she is actually Thai as opposed to South Korean. She has released a cover of the song "Moonlit Floor". One of the lines in the song goes, "Green-eyed French boy got me tripp'n."
But I don't want to talk about Lisa and "Moonlit Floor". What I want to talk about is “Ma Meilleure Ennemie” by Stromae & Pomme.
There is a song in French that is in the British Top 40. It is “Ma Meilleure Ennemie” by Stromae & Pomme. The song is from a Netflix show called Arcane League of Legends. It is a haunting song. The line that gets repeated is I love you; I hate you. It is interesting that a song in French from a TV show is so captivating that it ends up making it into the British Top 40.

Pink Pony Club
"Pink Pony Club" is Chappell Roan's third song to make it to the Top 40 off of her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. The song is about a girl in Tennessee who dreams of moving to West Hollywood to work as a Go-Go dancer in a queer bar.
Is there really a Pink Pony Club in West Hollywood? I don't know about these things. But I know of somebody around here who's an expert.

Restaurant for chicken wings and skimpy server uniforms is in financial trouble
Hooters is struggling. Hooters is meeting with consultants to figure out how to handle its debt.
Other restaurants are also struggling. TGI Friday's and Red Lobster are at the brink of bankruptcy.
Americans are running out of money. The economy really isn't that great out there.

Alain Delon
The French movie star from the 1960s and 1970s, Alain Delon, died last month at the age of 88 years old.
As men we should all be striving to be Alain Delon.
As a young man down on his luck in Paris, essentially a Vietnam veteran of France's Vietnam War, he had not yet made into the motion picture industry. Alain Delon was so gorgeous that the bad women of Paris took him in and fed him.
That's how you do it.

If not Travis Kelce, then who?
My peace was taken from me last night.
I watched a video that said that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's love was fake.
Now that I look into the issue, I see that the story is several days old. The story broke on Tuesday. There was a document on the internet that looked as though it was from Full Scope, the public relations firm that handles Travis Kelce. According to the document Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship was scheduled to end on September 28, 2024. The document outlined how the PR firm intended to spin the fallout from the breakup.
At this point everybody seems to be accepting the story from Full Scope, which is that the document was a fake. It looks like a class project for a college-level public relations class.
At the same time it is easy to see how there could be elements of truth in the story. It seems reasonable to assume that Taylor's PR people get approached all of the time with proposals for relationships from other celebrities' PR people. It seems reasonable that Taylor and Travis's romance started by Travis's PR team approaching Taylor's PR team.
Looking at today's stories about Taylor and Travis, it seems hard to believe that there is anything fake about their romance. Taylor Swift seems head over heels in love with Travis Kelce.
During last year's football season it seemed like the Kansas City Chiefs could not be stopped when Taylor Swift was in the house.
It seems to me that Taylor's people would be telling her that she needs to go the distance with Travis Kelce. Both of them are thirty-five years old. Taylor Swift isn't getting any younger. I could imagine Taylor's people asking her, “If not Travis, then who?” There aren't that many guys on this planet that could pull it off. And of the guys who could pull it off, how many of them are available right now?

Die With A Smile
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars collaborated on their new song, "Die With A Smile," which came out two weeks ago. This song is now topping the charts.
Lady Gaga will be coming out with her eighth studio album over the coming months. "Die With A Smile" is a stand-alone single and not part of the upcoming album.
Next month (October 2024) Lady Gaga stars opposite Joaquin Phoenix in “Joker: Folie à Deux.”
