Scenic Places to Bike Santiago Canyon Rd is great, when want a nice long and scenic ride. Depending on the direction you go it can be pretty quick or slow (more constant climbing heading east).
Along the way you can also turn to go up toward Silverado canyon which has a cool little country store to stop at along the way, that portion is an out and back.
Another good route is up through Sleepy Hollow (Route 142) and then coming back down via Diamond Bar Blvd into Brea Canyon.
