This is why I will never give a deposit, unless I happen to not be able to make my appointment, then making a deposit would be warranted for a upcoming date.

In Betterman's response to the OP was that he put down a $100 deposit and got ghosted after driving to her location. It may not have been the OP's point, but it was a point made.

He probably was pissed off. And it was the only way he could vent, for giving a deposit and not getting it returned. I am not condoning his response.
Example:
A partial payment given as a pledge or guarantee that you will complete a purchase. For example, paying $50 down to hold a bicycle at a store.
But if you never receive the bicycle you should get your deposit back.
This is why I do not give deposits anymore. Been burned twice.
"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me," So shame on me and it ruins it for others in the future.

I can understand being weary about sending a deposit but the comments made around it were a reason for pause. I don’t agree with anyone’s money being taken or time being wasted, if she wasn’t able to see him she should have absolutely given his money back.
It’s interesting how responses by individuals can unveil who they truly are and how they feel underneath it all..
