Depends. If you are famous for a good reason - like stopping a crazed shooter in his or her tracks and everyone wants to buy you a drink probably not a bad thing, but if you are famous for a bad reason - like being a crazed shooter- then probably not good.
Some celebrities like being famous some don’t.

If you were to have asked a younger version of me, I probably would have immediately said yes. I have always wanted to be famous. I even went to film school. But once I got a little bit older, I realized I love anonymity way too much, and so fame would be devastating in that way.
So I would have to say no, or at least maybe if I had control over the narrative and could keep myself famous for the right reasons and that fame translated to income or revenue streams. But I guess I would need too many caveats to really be famous so again, no.

Fame, like anything, CAN be a benefit for others besides the one with it.
I'm not ready for that kind of responsibility, tomorrow, maybe.

The mental toll it would take I think about Amy Winehouse and how she said she wouldn’t be able to take it & that she would go mad… I felt that in my soul lol but if you have the mental strength to not let it affect you then I guess it would be worth it for those people, but to what end
Money but no freedom hmmm to live with security your whole life and not be able to go outside freely idk man

I enjoy the idea of putting something out there that people would enjoy, be it music, art, etc.. Hate the idea of being famous for it.

Fame can also bring out jealous haters who will dig up your skeletons, or in some cases fabricate stories.

i work with famous people all the time.
the are just people. Some nice, some assholes, some very simple and laid back and some extremely difficult and up themselves.
they are usually surrounded by like type of personalities and that can make the experience even better or far worse... as they all need to justify their existence and thus exert their opinion to placate the master.
Famous is usually painful. Those that have it dont want it and those that dont have it seek it.
the means to live comfortably and be anonymous - if polled - im sure would be far greater than those wanting fame.
Just my 2c and 30 years experience in the business of famous people.
