Although the cops can impound for expired tags, it is rare to do so
Especially if you have paperwork showing you just bought it
You normally wouldn't even get a fine, just a fix it ticket that would get dismissed when you show it's current
What gives?

Besides the valid points brought up (cops usually don’t tow and impound a car just over expired tags) you haven’t said how much you are looking for. Guys should know that promises to repay under these circumstances rarely ever pan out so give if you want but good luck collecting. And it’s not because the girl doesn’t want to but because usually shit like this is the tip of the iceberg and there is a lot more underneath so while she wants to make good…she will absolutely freeze you out to take appointments that will pay. You already gave her money so she doesn’t get anything from repayment at that time.
Only a few I have helped actually have a pubic hair’s diameter of integrity.

Some of you guys are wrong sadly. I’m here to tell you that the police will tow your vehicle for expired tags. They won’t if it’s only a couple of months expired. Questionable at about 6 months depending if the cop wants to be a shitbird. At 2 years expired tags you bet your shit is getting towed, no if, ands or buts! I was able to get let go on 1 year expired tags because the Irvine cop showed me mercy, most likely because he felt sorry for me. However another Irvine cop wasn’t so accommodating when I got pulled over in different vehicle a couple years later that had 2 years expired tags.
Yes paying for registration isn’t a top priority for me. One of my weak points to say the least. Regardless, I’m not on here begging for money either. I know HX all too well… This is a tough crowd with a lot of things to say.
Rugmuncher is right though. You may have better odds gambling in Vegas vs. collecting on an advance to a provider, especially a desperate one who’s deep in the hole.
No disrespect for the OP, I do understand hardship and I feel bad that you’re going through this alone & with no help. I wish nothing more than for you to find your way out of this crappy situation you’re in. My advice if you’re not getting enough business from this site to generate and earn more funds to dig yourself out of this hole, I might suggest you advertise & post on other provider sites online. Put yourself out there for more exposure. This way you will make more money & won’t have to ask anyone for help. Tip: Post color pics showing more flesh & maybe a smile or two. Good luck to you and your kid… You will make it! We always do….

Look…I am not trying to be negative. God knows I have helped more providers in a jam than probably anyone so I can tell you that collection is always dicey. Now that being the case I never advance or help unless I am willing to take the loss. Because that’s just how it goes. It’s not that most WANT to fuck you over. They just do.
So if you want help then be specific and say “I need X and here is what I am willing to do to repay it.” It’s that simple.

I should clarify...I have helped out providers who I have seen before and, well, trusted, and more than half the time it is like pulling teeth to get them to make good on their promises. Basically every red in my network that is female is the result of trying to get them to at least communicate, them refusing to do so, me leaving a red mark, and then them retaliating.
So...you know...
I am still open to helping those who I have seen, but I know it's fraught with risk. I have one provider right now who keeps promising the moon, and good luck getting anything outta her, except the frantic call blowing up my phone when I am at work saying she needs room money now or she will be homeless. When she needs something, my phone blows up. When I want to get her to schedule to make good on the advance...crickets, even though she is advertising and seeing others.
Why? It's like collecting from a deadbeat subprime borrower. They don't service debt unless they have to.
Best way to help out a girl? Say you will meet her in person and give her cash. Never send the shit online in advance. LOL.

Every car I bought in NC, the plate must be returned by original owner and new owner must buy new plate or transfer their own plate from a previous car in good standing. There is no way to use another persons tags. With license plate readers its easy peasy to catch a bad tag.
