Apparently, diagnosed with blood cancer in 2023 but then reported remission this year but then a fast decline. Liked his movies. Underrated.

if you like thrillers and haven't seen dead calm, Billy Zane makes a great maniac and Nicole Kidman in her early style...

Just saw Dead Calm recently. Billy Zane as a psychotic villain on a boat in the deep ocean...sounds eerily familiar.
Sam was a great Merlin & the best onscreen paleontologist ever. Such a perennial talent, gonna miss him.
