As an actual person in the geosciences, I can say that predicting bigger earthquakes from earthquakes is incredibly difficult. We do not have enough sample data to make refined predictive models. There’s only roughly a hundred years worth of historical reliable seismic information. That’s why we need to rely on other data like paleoseismic studies.

What about predicting based on where they hit? I used to notice they would hit Mexico then alaska then Idaho

Dam earthquake?
It's not a good idea to be downstream from a dam during an earthquake.
