While San Clemente is a very safe area you can’t account for undesirables from other places coming in and wreaking havoc. I live in Irvine and while the city is very safe we have hoodlums and undesirables who come in. Fortunately IPD does a great job dealing with them.

You should move to San Gabriel Valley. Attached is a link to the latest Monterey Park Police busting a local brothel. If they bring such firepower against some scantily-clad sex workers, just imagine what they would do when actually facing hardened criminals with weapons.

That's a lot of cops for a couple of hookers. It seems way over the top.

I used to spend my Summers in San Clemente at my grandmas house who lived 3 blocks from the beach.
Back in the day its was a hidden gem and quiet.
At night was a different story and since going to San Clemente circa 1980.
Punk Rock scene and etc.
Has always been lightning bolt power gangs and even to this day still is. IYKYK what that is.
Yes, every city has gangs and SC will always have.

Shoot I live in Huntington Beach and just last week I was awoken to 4 gun shots then 4 more and someone yelling, "You shot me. You shot me"
I've lived in HB for over 6 years and I've never heard gunshots. A lot of drunk drivers but never shots fired. This world is becoming like the wild wild West.

Omg thats terrible . I used to live in San clemente and loved it there. Never would have thought

Well, south OC gets more heavily red and there are certain parts of OC with white supremacist pasts. Like HB. But think about it…the easiest place to find unwitting and unprepared rich victims is actually the wealthy areas like much of OC.

In regards to the HB shooting it was a domestic situation. No robbery or theft. Some guy shot two people. For what I don't know. But I know he knew the guy that shot him and his friend cause he was yelling his name over and over as he was saying you shot me along with yelling for his Mom.
I do have to say the police were there in a matter of like 1 min. It was rather impressive.

It's getting worse with no improvement in sight. Homelessness on the rise, overpopulation, and inequities. Once ai dominates there should be even less jobs and even more crime
I used to walk my dog at 3 in the morning in the summers whenever I can't sleep until 2019 when a homeless guy threw a knife at me missing me by a few inches. This happened on harbor street where it's crowded at night Iykyk

It's definitely getting worse. People are triggered and looking for reasons to claim victimhood. And social media and the internet continues to silo people off into echo chambers.
At least meeting people on HX forces you to have some social skills...even if it's only grunting and moaning for a half hour or hour.
But better than just texting, typing and doomscrolling all fucking day with people who you have become desensitized and dehumanized to.
AI will only make it worse. I agree.

Shit can happen anywhere and some of the biggest fuck ups I know are from San Clemente. Its a nice town dont get me wrong. But if you go out looking for trouble there you will easily find it. I have heard of gangs there in the past. I didnt know and am surprised its still active

i lived in downtown san clemente in the late 90s. way different place today as the bar down the street from where i lived used to be a rough biker bar but now is a hipster bar. told the owner if it was like this back then i would have been there every night. like san juan, gentrification takes a lot of time to weed all the street elements out until it is sanitized and boring.

Sinful curves you maybe could help the case since you ateca sound witness. San clemente had some past homicides in the 80s snd 90s but thought it cleaned up. Still my preferred choice to stay during holidays..once on christmas years ago I overslept and never checked out at 2pm late checkout and the hotel was kind to not barge in and wake me.. I ended up extending my stay tho. My fam was made cause I was late to holiday dinner.

Some of those fisherman on the pier take that shit seriously as they are feeding their families.
