I Like To Be Referred To As …

I’ve realized that I genuinely enjoy being called “ma’am.” More specifically, hearing “yes ma’am” always seems to put a smile on my face. It’s one of those small things that just feels right to me.

What’s funny is that it often comes from younger people. At work, someone in their early twenties will say “yes ma’am,” and while I try to keep a straight face, internally I’m thinking, “Yes! I love that.” There’s something about the respect, confidence, and attentiveness behind it that I find very appealing.

It’s a simple form of address, but for whatever reason it resonates with me. Everyone has little things that make them feel noticed or appreciated, and for me, being called “ma’am” is definitely one of them.

That's good of you & that you understand it's a sign of respect.

I've worked in the food service industry for years, I always say thank you ma'am or Sir, some younger women take offense, portraying that a ma'am is considered for addressing only to a mature woman.

Etiquette runs far & wide if you know what you're talking about.

Kudos to you Miss
