Motels

I get it. Some or most are known for lack of cleanliness or questionable guests they tend to attract. These stereotypes exist for a reason but I have yet to feel unsafe or get bitten by bed bugs. In my experience I’ve found out this really doesn’t apply to ALL motels. In any case I do feel unsafe, I have no issues counting my losses and check out! I do my best to ensure the location will never place a soul in harms way and is very clean for everyone including me because after all, I am the one staying there. I have had a few requests to upgrade. I would totally be up for staying at the Hilton or the Marriott and it has happened before on the condition I do very well. Please trust I would never put anyones safety at risk to save money. Noooo way!

You would be in the best position to decide what location would best meet your expectations. I would obviously defer to you in that regard. I am glad you have enough consideration to keep our comfort and safety in mind. That actually means a lot.

Use Super.com
You can get rooms at safe places like Marriott for way cheaper and you get cash back on every room. Check it out.

It took me a while to stop using third party websites to book hotels and sign up for Marriott and Hilton rewards programs and I am so glad I did!

Some motels are ok. Especially since many are installing hard floors and getting away from the disgusting carpets.

It’s not the motels themselves. It’s the shady people who stay at them and it gets worse at night.

I get trying to save money but there are other alternatives. Found a very cheap hotel in Hollywood last night that had no room deposit and was an actual hotel. No frills but better than any motel and you can easily get in and out. And there is a cool cocktail bar downstairs.

So at least for Hollywood I have one suggestion.

Last night I paid less than $80. Used the room, met up with someone for an outcall there and left after. But it woulda been fine spending the night. Parking was $18.

Did I mention no room deposit?

Yes I have seen places pretty cheap that are not motels. And yes thats why I said safe locations. There’s absolutely no way I would rent a place in a city I would feel unsafe in especially as a petite woman all by myself.

There are times I wont though. Its a gamble. But I know what to do and like I said in my post I have upgraded before and when I have to take a different route, I make sure safety and cleanliness is in place.
