Gift Card Question

It's time for me to re-up on FXP. I have used Home Depot cards in the past, but I recall seeing a blog post recently that the system was having issues accepting HD cards and converting them to FXP.

Can anyone clarify? If there are snags with HD, what is a GC that is accepted and is known to work with the system these days?

Thanks!

I had issues buying both an HD and Walmart ecards.

I tried twice with Walmart and after that failure I tried HD and it failed as well. The next day I get an email from my bank telling me that both Walmart and HD charged me for an ecard I never received for which I never received a confirmation either. I was charged $150 combined.

I contacted both companies.

Walmart looked into it and told me that a refund would be issued within 48 hours (2 days). Ok cool.
HD also confirmed that they would look into the charge and would refund me within 7 business days. Ok cool.

After one full week I checked my banked statement and there were no credits issued, so I called my bank and asked them to look into it and clarify the charges. Turned out neither Walmart or HD actually charged me.

Currently, it appears both Walmart and HD have issues with this site issuing ecards because in the 10+ years that I have supported this site with ecards I have never had an issue.

My next step was to go and buy a physical Walmart card from CVS. Bought it, logged in, redeem it and all was eazy peazy.

When I have done it in the past, I've bought the card online directly from HD and not through HX. Sounds like that should still work.

Thanks, gents. Much appreciated.

Here is my recent experience with HD cards
A week ago, i tried to buy it online. The numbers never arrived via email and while my bank texted me of the pending charge initially, it was never posted, and the pending charge never appeared .

So I went directly to HD and purchased off the rack, while asking the cashier if this card is tampered with, what are my options. She said bring it back.

The gift card envelope had no indication of damage or tampering, but when i opened it, the Pin code was covered with adhesive. Trying to remove the adhesive, the number was gone.
I returned to HD and they called support and got the pin code making sire the card wasnt redeemed by the crooks.

Why they dont keep the cards behind the counter the agent said “ its not CONVENIENT”!!!

I did recently complete my transaction using HD.

I did what I had done in the past - purchased the digital gift card on homedepot.com and then converted it to FXP. I did not try to acquire the card via the links here at HX on the "Membership/FXPoints" page, which is where it sounds like people have run into issues in the past.

Buy off the HD site. I have always done that. It gets digitally delivered to email. You use the code and convert. Boom.

It’s honestly cheaper just to gift points to someone and have them unlock your mail seven days at a time. FX points are useless to me. Only useful for looking at private albums.
