Current times seem tougher than usual? Or more complicated? Or that something is missing? Just wondering

Someone was describing the mid late 70's yesterday. Sounded like we are in the beginning stages of that again. The cycles or history does repeat. Like the drought years are coming back.

The big difference is smart phones. Life was more peaceful then.

Oh and other than my time getting stolen every day with all this traffic.

I have to agree with Rug, Covid did make massive negative changes that we still haven’t recovered from.

Internet and social media are definitely big contributors to humanity’s demise.

Honestly, I think a lot of us feel completely thrown right now. So much of what’s happening doesn’t make sense—it’s overwhelming and, at times, truly mind-boggling. There seems to be a lack of reason or rationality in so many aspects of the world around us.

Many of us were raised to believe that people are inherently good—at least, I know I was. Of course, there have always been bad apples, but for a lot of us, it feels like that belief has been shaken. Our hearts have been broken as we’ve come face-to-face with a version of the world that’s very different from what we were taught or once believed existed.

The pandemic, combined with social media, has only accelerated all of this. We were isolated, and in that time, many of us lost friends, family, and loved ones—whether through death, or through growing distance, disappointment, and conflict.

For many, it feels like everything is crashing down at once, and in the worst way. The world is changing rapidly—technology is reshaping industries and taking jobs, the cost of living continues to rise, and people don’t seem as kind or patient as they once were (though it’s hard to blame them given everything).

Social media, in many ways, has done the opposite of what it was meant to do. And to be clear, this isn’t about politics or taking sides—I’m not judging anyone or their choices. But I do think that, for many of us, it feels like we were sold a version of reality that doesn’t match what we’re experiencing now. And coming to terms with that can feel much bigger—and heavier—than our hearts or minds were ever prepared for.

ONE WORD, "TRUMP". He has caused the incivility and anger which has divided this Country. He caused Covid to enter Country and his handling (other than streamlining vaccine) for which I applaud him, only after himself getting vaccinated thrice spoke out against the very vaccines he helped bring into the world. He started inflation with 2017 tax bill, Biden made it worse with flooding the market with money with his bill, but acted albeit late to improve inflation and Trump once again came in and screwed it up again.

He has imposed tarrifs driving up costs and inflation and started a war. Mind you He stated, "I will bring down costs on day one", "Kamala will get us into a war, world war 3" and what did he do...increase unaffordability and start a war. Oil prices went from 49 to $109 a barrel and gas and jet fuel prices have almost.doubled

His supporters have been conned..They are proRepublican vs ProAmerican. They have been indoctrinated to hate. "Its because of the illegal immigrant, im making less money." Turning them against one below them in socioeconomic ladder vs the billionaires who rob us blind, commit fraud (and get pardoned by Trump).

THIS IS WHY AMERICA IS ANGRY.

People often react to something they dislike by expecting it to disappear, rather than confronting their own emotions. They demand that others care about their issues as much as they do. This mindset is a driving force behind the world's worsening state. I believe I have experienced the best 45 years of humanity, from 1975 to 2020, when civilization reached its peak in tolerance, freedom, communication, and medicine. Since then, we've started to decline, though maybe just a slight dip in recent years, a mere blip in the grand timeline.

I think the biggest negative change, other than COVID, was the introduction not just of smartphones but of the algorithms that keep us trapped in these bubbles, reaffirming our thoughts and positions, even if they are shit. Politics is a national sport; you're either red or blue, GTFO anyone else. Trust in the establishment is at an all-time low. People run around doing whatever they want; we have our so-called leaders with the mask off, telling us to our faces that everything is fine while the house is on fire. The K-shaped economy is real, and the upper K is the people on this website, while the lower part of the K is everybody else.

It's completely unsustainable, as with most things modern humanity does, and it's only a matter of time until the bottom falls out.

Hopefully, I'll be dead before that happens.

Newscum destroyed California.

When Orange Man became president Newscum said he was going to fight tooth and nail so Orange Man couldn't come in to see where the money was going to. The train plans, homelessness. Now we know why he didn't want the administration snooping around to see where all the fraud going on in California.

We have the highest taxes, highest gas, highest cost of living, highest food prices. No one gets paid enough anymore to live in California. There is a guy on TT that explains what's going on and what they've done. All the way to hiding things in the measures we vote for to all the companies leaving California like Exxon and Tesla. @raminekhtiar. Watch his videos if you live in California.

Ok it’s good to know I’m not the only 1 feeling a little lost and troubled. We will have to ride out this karma wave.
