I've been listening to a lot of 911 calls.
For the most part the 911 operators are all the same. They come at the caller pretty short, and almost rude. I'm not asking about them doing this with callers. I've heard a lot of cops that panic and freak out. So how come they don't act like that with them? Tell them, "Calm down. I can't hear you." "Take a breath" "Relax I've sent you help. Help is on the way." "You need to calm down or I can't help you"
I think it's because cops talk in cop like lingo. And the operators talk in the same manner. Most of the public doesn't talk like that.
So many of these 911 calls are met with people in a panicked situation and the operators a rude twat. There are some that have even hung up on people calling 911 for real help. And I've heard some that were complete angels and had the wherewithal to calm the caller Down. Complete Saints. It takes a lot to be a 911 operator. I could never. And a lot of these operators should have never as well.
