I just moved from LA to San Diego. In LA I took visitors to Griffith Observatory or La Brea tar pits, and people seemed to like it. Many good breweries in LA too.

I always do outs at the Intercontinental LA when I am in the area. It is the tallest building in California and the tallest open air bar in the western hemisphere. Spend the extra to get a bedroom suite and ask for the 62nd or 64th floor. You get views of all of LA, Hollywood sign, Dodgers Stadium, etc. it is the best night views of LA. Pretty sick to see helicopters flying below you while in the spa tub.

Hop on the metro!
Go to Olvera Street
DT LA Union Station
Go to
Cielito Lindo -Mexican stand
They have the best taquitos for like 100 years.
Get extra sauce - it's green - watery - u can drink it
Also. Be aware of your surroundings, wear comfortable shoes, have good control of your belongings
Anywhere in LA
Lock ur car doors when getting in
Park by street lights.
Cheers

I 2nd jessicataylorla the Grove suggestion. The Farmer Market is next store too. The Academy Museum is near by too. If ya like Movies? The LACMA is under construction, but has limited exhibit space. These are good starters, because they're near by, there's so much to do.
