its exciting but there needs to be ethnical considerations put into place when we start doing these live cloning type of things
the reason why i say that is because i dont want use to start moving towards unethnical cloning for medical usage and research....it could be a slippery slope
bringing back life is cool and for preservation reasons, but i can see where if you had enough money...you might beyond that and get crazy about it
its very sci fi but we are there now.....you get rich enough and you create a clone of yourself to donate stem cells and organs to yourself

I just listened to the CEO of Colossal on Joe Rogan and it was fascinating. The wolves are so cool but Wooly Mammoths and Dodo birds are coming too.

"the habitat changed and could no longer support their species"
In the case of the Mammoth, Dodo, Tasmanian Tiger and Passenger Pigeon, we wiped them out, you could make the argument that we could right a wrong by bringing them back and their native habitat can support them.
Not sure why the Dire Wolf was the first up since it was part of a much larger die off and would not have the necessary food sources if thrown back into the wild. Maybe they are first because of PR and damn cute.

I like dogs , but are they not nothing more than a Hybred ?
I read they are suppose average 300 lbs. Will they get that large.
Have agree with Marisa on this one.

Well get ready for more. Gene splicing is has really only been around for about 10 years and there are a lot more doors to open but I'm not sure if we'll get Tyrannosaurus Rex since I don't believe there's close living relative to splice in T Rex. But you never know!

I know some people are saying they’re just grey wolves, but I think it’s deeper than that…
a magnificent combo of both sides — something entirely new. That’s what makes them
feel magical to me.
But I do wonder — are their instincts confused in this new world? Will they feel at home, or are they being shaped into something that doesn’t quite fit? I hope they find their place, live comfortably, and get the care they need.

Absolutely not !!
I love what Marissa said, real talk.
Too many unwanted animals in the world, why do we need more.... ?

I am not sure we should be doing this.
Some of the species that might be brought back became extinct as the result of an extinction level event such as the meteor that made the crater in Winslow Arizona. We could end upsetting the current natural order.
