she became ill enough she called 911, but the paramedics blew her off saying "it's probably just the flu" and refused to take her to the hospital.
That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. If it is as you say, her family should obtain a personal injury attorney. Pretty much guaranteed the ambulance company and/or the police agency that handled the original 911 call and/or the fire department that responded and/or the county that authorized that ambulance company to provide emergency medical would all settle out of court for bucco bucks.

I'll jump on the bandwagon and suggest a lawyer.
But what I'll add, is that if it's true she got ignored by 911, they will have evidence of that.
911 calls are KEPT/ STORED for various reasons, one of which is what we might see here.
Any competent lawyer in the discovery process will request for those calls - pretty easy to get I bet by telephone number, date & time.
A review will be made, and IF egregious = payday.

Someone in her family fight for her. I went sepsis after going to the emergency room and being told just to take pain pills. I actually had my gallbladder already turning gangrene in four days later I went by ambulance. They finally did emergency surgery on me. Iรข๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝm in the middle of this issue, however somebody in her family please fight for her they should not have happened Wishing her friends and family care while they deal with this and the loss of their friend.

My condolences to the family i will truly miss her. I knew her outside of HX on another site and she helped me out a lot and was always so caring. This is a lawsuit I hope someone in her family can do something about this. I know you're crushed Victoria and my heart goes out to you and her family. Stay strong and help her family fight for her justice.

I know people who work in health care and they tell me paramedics have assigned themselves to be arbiter of who is really sick and who is not. It's probably reimbursement related because people don't pay the extra paramedic billing that comes separate from the ambulance bill.

The events detailed here are so sad and frustrating. I have started to comment about 10 times in the last 45 hours but just can't put the words together. As far as I know I never met this lady (unless it was at a Halloween social or something) or even exchanged PMs, so if this is affecting me so much, I can't imagine how her family and friends are doing.
We've had enough fucking trauma for one year between multiple HX people dying recently and all the horror in the Palisades and Alta Dena fires.
I won't say "thoughts and prayers" because that is empty bullshit. I will say that I feel awful for everyone who knew this lady and I hope you take solace in your memories of her and how she made you feel.

She was such a sweet person, always sincere and truly herself. No bullshit with her.
I know she was in the Antelope Valley, and that hospital and system of first responders out there are sketchy as fuck. Family should definitely sue, but I understand if they choose not to as those things take a lot of energy and potentially extend the pain of grief. I hope hers and her loved ones find peace.

I got to meet Apple when she and ItalianVittoria came to San Diego to see a concert and the 3 of us spent a little time together. They were a blast together. Funny, genuine, energetic, easy smiles and great personalities. Apple will be missed.
