just a thought, get your own phone.

Hi… sorry about your phone debacle. I’m gathering you worked out a barter or trade deal with this guy, your time & services for a cellular phone & service, correct? Well I’ve got good news and bad news. Which do you want first?
I always pick the bad news first. You’re screwed for the most part. If he’s unwilling to give you the password to access the account or phone itself, it’s most likely in his name. The good news however is… There are ways to unlock certain phones, giving you the freedom of choosing another or the same carrier, opening your own account, and issuing you a brand new phone number.
I would need more details such as… The carriers name, is the phone on a specific contract, is it paid off & the make and model of the phone. Take it to one of those independent mom & pop cell phone stores, they’ll let you know exactly what your options are & if they can unlock it for you or not. It’s not that expensive either.
And another thing.., Chalk this up as a learning experience. Only accept electronic transactions or cash money in the future. Had you, you would’ve been able to go out & purchase your own cell phone & service! Why rely on some guy on here or anywhere for that matter to follow though or do anything for you? It can always change at the drop of a pin. You’re a grown up, you don’t need some man child having control over your cell phone and the business you conduct on it. Stop giving these fools the power to f@&k you around. Buy your own shit from now on. Take his money and go buy it! Lesson learned I hope.

Thank you for the responses
I take them as they are
Some good some harsh
I don't need any more thank you

I'm sorry that my comment was harsh or direct. It just seemed the straightest path to getting you back on top. Get a phone and ignore the guy causing troubles.
But there is always more to a story so good luck.

Thanks for sharing. Guy sounds like a control freak to me.

I don't understand the problem.
Burner phones are pretty darn cheap, that's why they are called burner phones, many are one use only & disposed of.
Perhaps I am missing something, especially since it was stated:
"I blocked him on my phone"
Paint him red and move along.

Why would allow someone to control a phone you use? I get it helps but ask for the money instead.
As far as ratings…pretty self explanatory.

I'm sorry I don't mean to be harsh. Yes you need to be careful with these guys. The first thing you need to do is never ask them for any help no matter what. That's how they get to control you. Don't ever give them that power. That is the main thing you gotta remember. Don't ever ask them for help. Because then they have no way to control you or make you feel the way you are feeling now. It's not a good feeling. And I'm sorry that happened to you. You just gotta learn from this so it doesn't happen again.
Stay safe
