Ruth Chris is always good. I’ll enjoy their steaks, gotta go with the sirloin or ribeye. Cream, spinach, and sweet potato casserole are great for sides, but I haven’t really not had a bad one there.

Yes, Five Crowns for Prime Rib - They are part of the Lawry's Group. They know Prime Rib.
The Ranch is Pretty good.
If you want something a little more elegant and with a larger selection of Steaks you can try Selanne Steak Tavern.
IMHO, I would avoid Mortons and Ruth's Chris. No offense. I have got some stories about them.
Check out the menu's to see what better suits your taste.
Cheers!

Near JWA, Houston's (Asian-ish flair, sushi + steaks) or Bistango (live Jazz, comfy booths).

For Surf & Turf
Old Tony's on the Redondo Beach Pier. Night time is fun, it's pleasantly stuck in like 1968. If you sit next to the sliding glass doors, you can open the doors to hear the waves and maybe, maybe throw some bread to the seagulls.

At SCP, try The Capital Grill. Their Stoli Doli is an excellent martini.
Great food and the service has been wonderful.

Mastros is a can't miss. But the Orange Mining Company in Tustin also is a great place. Plus it sits on a hill giving you great views while you dine and drink.

I have been to most of the Steakhouses in OC and find the service, ambiance and food to always be impeccable at Bourbon and Steak at the Waldorf Astoria in Monarch Beach.
The Ranch...good but ambiance is too cold
Ocean 48 and Mastro's about the same, good food, loud, good vibe.
Morton's is good and stable
Capital Grill is excellent and underrated
The A is excellent in Newport Beach
5 Crowns, known for Prime Rib

Hanna's in Rancho Santa Margarita. Not pretentious, more like a good quality east coast bar and grill with top notch steak house quality. Decent bar scene early in the evening as well and a killer Wine Wednesday.

Ruth Chris is good, if you like your steak salty and overpriced.
Same with Mortons and all the usual suspects around JWA.
Trabuco Oaks steak house in the canyon is quaint, fun and the food phenomenal!
Same with Hannah's - sit on the stools at the kitchen and have fun with the chef's like a sushi bar!

I've been to Morton's a few times...
I like how they do a the ribeye great. If you opt for the tomahawk (2?) or porterhouse, you won't be disappointed.
