ALS is a terrible disease! I wake up each day and wonder what part of my body is going to show signs of being affected. As of this writing, I am pretty much confined to a wheelchair. Both legs are useless as is my right arm as well. My speech is starting to be affected (slight slurring) and my diaphram is weakening, it is hard to even cough. In about a week I will get a feeding tube placed directly into my stomach.

I have never asked for help on this site but my current condition dictates that I consider things I thought I would never do. My ability to "work" is gone but the bills never stop! The mental stress only ads to my overall discomfort making each day a living nightmare. Some people say, "Fuck it! Just quit paying the bills, what are they going to do?" But as the people in my network can attest to, I have a strong sense of obligation and duty, so I continue to honor my obligations.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this.
ALS is incredibly cruel, and the weight you’re carrying, physically and mentally, is more than anyone should have to handle. Asking for help doesn’t diminish your strength or sense of duty. I’ll be sharing your GoFundMe and wishing you support and relief in every way possible. ❤️

Marisa, I don't know you, but my aunt died from ALS. I agree that you should stop paying your bills if you need to, and get a caretaker to be with you at all times. Use your bill money to pay for that. You will need help in situations and it will help you keep your dignity until the end. I'm sorry I never got to meet you. Take care of yourself. Citibank will be fine.
