I've never met someone who overexplained so much in my life. I got the same goddamn lecture 3x because I called ahead, showed up, left and came back. It was so fucking bad.

I do now know a lot about the clean water situation in private tubs across SoCal (and into other places)
I will say there are pop quizzes so I highly recommend paying attention if you do go
DO NOT show up already wet and ready TO go. Unless it's ready to learn...(and in that case do not show up wet or you will be questioned about the wet and its proximity to oil)
My favorite part of it all was the in class demonstration (after the 45 min lecture) of how clean the water is where everyone involved had to hang over the tub (this was not optional this was a must we found out) and under water swipe the side of said tub for measure (if you do not swipe right you will be asked to swipe again, so just pay attention and do it right the first time)
and...I low key like him. He was a horrific first act for setting a mood admittedly but he himself is kinda a mood and I do like eccentric people. However with all that said I am not sure I could do that again. Lol.
I will say this though. He is right about one thing...
His water IS clean and his place IS one of a kind. He has also been in business a long time. So that's that.

AJ is a nut case, very knowledgeable about his business but a nut case!
I have been going there when there was a prior owner, so I don't think he's been there 20 years yet.
The other guy was laid back. He still explained the situation, but if you were a regular he would forego the sermon.
AJ does the 15 minute speal even if you've been going for years and just went the day before.
He also advertises an hourly rate but the minimum length of time is two hours. WTF! Still, it's not a bad rate and he does keep the place very clean.
I've gone a lot less just because of his mandatory lecture. It is VERY annoying.
You can get some pretty good video in there though...

Haha Jiggy lets go. It's intense but must be experienced. At least once in life. And you do learn a lot about oil and water. It is kinda like having to wait your turn for a ride lol
And just as a follow up to the pricing, it is NOT accurate on his website. Not only is it double the time (min two hour rental) it is also double the price. So just an FYI.

@scotty949 Is it worth it? Yes. If you can handle the checking in process it is a pretty decent price for a pretty decent place. And it is fairly unique. Just be warned getting in takes a bit of patience and trial. And the prices are def not what is on the website. But then sure it is pretty fun. He is not in there with you thank god. LOL. And it's a cool little spot. I might go back solo and try for some mermaid photos and videos lol.

I've NEVER been there.
However, I've got an above ground spa at home, have had it for years.
Even WITHOUT lotions & oils, over time there gets a nasty ring around the waterline just from the natural oils your body has - and it's a bit of a pain in the ass to remove.
Wife & I now generally take a shower before getting in to reduce the oils in the water (then take a shower afterwards due to chlorine etc in the water)
So, having never listened to his lecture, I can understand where he is coming from.
A bit nasty scrubbing in your own spa, with limited use....... cleaning someone elses stuff.... plus other body fluid - gotta be grosser still.
Just considering another side since this thread seems to be mostly negative.

I think he says he has a smaller spa for 30 and hour and the other two are 40 and hour, but for some reason the smaller one is never available.
Also, the minimum time you can reserve is 2 hours, so you're basically paying 80 per visit for 2.
I used to frequent the place quite a bit with a couple regulars, but only a couple of times since he added the two hour requirement a few years ago.
I went there earlier this month and paid 80, along with 15 minutes of my life wasted listening to his spiel, which I have heard each and every time for over 10 years.
