He got dressed and headed for the door.
A quiet goodbye. The door closed. His footsteps faded down the hall. The room felt calm again.
I walked across the floor barefoot unhurried letting the moment finish on its own.
That is when I noticed it.
Something tiny on the floor. Gold. Shiny.
A very small golden carrot. So small it looked like it belonged to a toy.
I laughed softly. A bunny finding a carrot felt almost too perfect. Like a small coincidence meant only for me.
I picked it up and rolled it between my fingers. Smooth. Shiny. Simple. Left behind without meaning just there.
It felt playful. A little naughty. A reminder that moments sometimes leave traces without trying to.
I set it on the nightstand and let the thought pass. Not everything needs an explanation. Some things are just there to be noticed.
I went to go shower smiling.
A bunny and her golden carrot
…..the story continues
Warm water washed everything clean. Steam filled the room. The night slowed down.
When I stepped out and sat on the edge of the bed pulling my socks on one at a time I noticed something else on the floor.
Small. Dark. Quiet.
An aqua wand.
Both pieces so tiny they looked like they belonged to a Lego set.
Toy like. Random.
I picked it up and smiled.
A carrot and a wand for a bunny.
Funny how things show up.
