I was just looking through an old blog where people mention and respond to Marrisa, but her replies are not in the thread. It seems her profile has been deleted.
I never met her in person and have no knowledge of her status or condition. But knowing what she was facing, this is most likely not a good development.
Godspeed, Marrisa

I am very good friends with Marissa G and since she has removed her profile from HX for obvious reasons, I felt compelled to just update on her behalf.
She is fighting as best as anyone can fight this horrible disease but its not good as anyone who is familiar with ALS knows its not curable.
So on behalf if my dear friend, just continue to pray and those who did meet her in person, always cherish the memories and know that she misses the site and her friends.
Marissa You will always & forever remain in my heart

She is a sweet woman who didn’t deserve this horrible disease as nobody else deserves it either. While I met her briefly, she struck me as a sweet lady.
Coral, You are a good friend to be her support partner

I saw that she set up a go fund me and some guys gave a few bucks to it.

Prayers for her.
Never met her.
But I pray for her to somehow
Recover.

Never met her but Marissa was intelligent and measured and I loved reading her posts. She was very articulate and looked at the facts. She wasn’t blindly beholden to any ideological views. A rare breed on this site.
Godspeed.

Rare in general actually. Nothing but respect for Marissa

Ditto to all the comments about this unique woman. Can someone post her GoFundMe page as it disappeared along with all of her posts when she ended her account? Thank you.

Thanks, Coral, for the update and information.

Rugmuncher nails it too. Marrissa is a valued community member as much for all the valuable information and advice she shared, as for the way she shared it - with excellent communication skills and TONS of patience.

I will see if she still has it up and if so I will post it here. Thank you to all of tou for your kind words, and I agree this is a horrible disease and she is such a kind hearted person, it breaks my heart that this happened to her. NO ONE deserves to suffer from this awful incurable diagnosis.

Just Horrible . Sometimes in life we stress about trivial things. Need to remember folks that are dealing with real life challenges such as Marissa's , keeps things in perspective.

Sorry Marissa to see you go. May Marissa please have a miracle cure . You made such an impact in this community and no one can take your place. I will miss you. Cherish every moment with your love ones and that goes for her and everyone here. We never know when it’s our last days.
Marissa may you be set free with no more pain, I hope you have no pain. God bless you🕊️🕊️🕊️

It's absolutely heartbreaking.to read the title "Marrisa's Final Journey" and how such a vibrant young woman writes about being dealt an "illness that is virtually 100% fatal in 6 months to 2 years" As others said, it really puts things in perspective. Prayers, condolences, and hope to her friends and family.

Coralblue,
Please convey to Marissa how much we are all thinking of her and have great affection & respect for her. Even with all the different kinds of personalities on here, we're all in agreement on that. She's a class act. Our heart goes out to her. And we will always remember her with a smile & a tear in our eye.

@sonsofadam, socalsteve, maribele and everyone else. 🙏 thank you. I sent her a message last night letting her know how much she means to so many of us and shared all your messages with her. I have not heard back yet as she no longer is able to text and verbal communication is very challenging for her but I will reach out again today and see if I can get her on the phone to listen to me read her the messages. Thank you to ALL of you.

God bless you all for showing the care and compassion in these days and times
I do not personally know MG but seen her profile and tribulations from afar.
Far too young but the support from HX is amazing to witness

Damn, that is very sad… Never met her but anyone that goes through a debilitating disease like that or cancer it’s just such a heartbreaking sad thing! Haven’t gone through cancer myself and fortunate now to be cancer free for over five years. It is such a horrible sad thing. My best to her and her family.
