I agree with you Kelsey, the phone companies seem to be the biggest abusers of position!
Don't let them get away with it. If you haven't yet set up your online account through which you can also file complaints and dispute charges etc....
Have you taken your case to HQ, not just the store where the alleged ROB took place? The "squeaky wheel gets the grease" is appropriate here. Keep pestering them and don't back down. Demand investigation.
Is there a location function on your old phone to try and locate it? They may have taken the SIM card out so may not be possible but worth looking into.
Don't understand exactly what/how happened here but i feel ya.
