He may have ultimately conned them but in 2015 it was all about something else. Citizens of all political parties were so disenchanted with business as usual in D.C. that they gravitated towards the first person that would offer a breath of fresh air, and DJT filled that void.
What has transpired since then is a different story. The MAGA base has 2 problems; 1) they refuse to admit that they made a mistake, and/or, 2) they are still so disenchanted with business as usual that they will still support DJT regardless of his many failings, or the fact that he desperately wants to be like the leaders he admires - a dictator.

Now he probably will clean house and get rid of a lot of the riff raff in DC, but we have so much overhead in Gov. agencies, they could fire half of DC and we would save billions and not lose any services because most of those people don't do anything productive anyway.

I am all for alternatives to fossil fuel, but a slow replacement as technology dictates and solar, wind, nuclear can all get properly positioned for replacement. The Earth is NOT going to die in 20 years as we make the planned and properly calibrated transition.
The Chinese are thumbing their noses at us as they build coal plant after coal plant. Somehow the fucking liberals in this country think that the air above China never floats over to the US.....
EVs are clearly being shown to have limited range in cold weather, take far longer to charge than most ever thought, have higher overall maintenance costs than gas vehicles, and are a huge draw on the grid. Here is CA we already have rolling blackouts, so pushing EV before the infrastructure is in place just shows how idiotic the Green zealots truly are.
He threw all of Trumps policies to the wind and opened our border and allowed 10 million + people, many with no skills, can't speak the language, and will have a negative impact on our economy. Of course, we also are capturing dozens of people on the terrorist watch list, wonder how are now in the country.
Joe was going to unite the country, we are more divided today than even under Obama, who missed a chance to make a real difference.
I won't even start on the foreign policies he has fucked up.

There are several viable alternatives to both trump & biden.
RFK, Stein, West - kinda.
I've listened to a lot of RFK's speeches and interviews both the long form - 2+ hours & short.
He's smarter then either trump or biden, is the only one actually talking about the border, the military industrial complex, cleaning up corporate capture of the government, the WHO & WEF, the middle class, the economy, our food source, has a simple common sense solution to ensuring only citizens vote etc.
May want to check him out or any of the others.
And before you say that voting for any of them is a wasted vote - RFK is polling over 20% in the latest poles and is gaining. He just made it onto the New Hampshire ballot by getting 5000 signature in a day - a record according to various news agencies.

1 our of every 6 Federal civilian employees live in the DC area. Many are nothing more than political appointments and the people do next to nothing. That is the swamp.
