I believe you can upload GIFs but not videos

Even if you could, how would you upload a video to a photo album?

The site will not host a video for you as it does not want to take on any copyright issues along with the financial costs of storing that data. When you post a video to YouTube and then share the video here, YouTube takes on those responsibilities. Same is true for any other video sharing site.
I would shy away from posting GIF content unless it is very clearly you in the images. A GIF is not so much a video but a series of photos played in series. Which I guess is what a video is too if you think about it. But anyhoo, the site does allow GIF’s but only if you are the individual in it. Any GIF’s or exploding whales, or a knight beating a dead horse or whatever else all have copyright issues the site would rather not deal with.
