I find that the cheaper ones (still not cheap) are very uncomfortable.
The better made corsets do not use thin wiring, they are sturdier and much more comfortable.
The custom made one I have is one of the most comfortable articles of clothing I own.
Keep in mind there are several types from waist cincher to longer (down to the hip). I recommend trying different ones and finding whats most comfortable for you.
