Thank you for point out the @ symbol I was going to mention it but thought people knew it from Twitter.
When you use the @ symbol on Twitter it is apart of there user name so if i said
@donaldtrump you go boy it will show on my feed
I'm not sure it shows up on theres. But it turns into a clickable link to there page.
If I use the

It will turn into a hyperlink to that person profile

I might be wrong but I thought that the link function, if used properly... could take the reader to any specific post of any blog rather than using these smoke signals with the Caret symbol. And yes... theres always people jumping in ahead if your not brief anyways.
I see people even in the professional workplace using the @-prefix in email to call out people with questions or comments. It's an Insta thing.

Lol the only proper use I know of is to indicate a superscript of some sort, when there is no fancy formatting available. It’s how you input exponents on older sci calcs. Like n^4.
So I guess I learned something new today. However, now I do wonder why the same general idea wouldn’t work for blog threads. Like ^3 being three comments above. Seems less cumbersome this way. That’s it. I’m starting the trend.
