when they fix the ping pong balls and we get that big black dude that can jump really really high...i wanna keep him and not ship out for the other big one with the funny eyebrow

We already anticipated that this year was just a warm up for next season. Even if the Lakers got Davis, they probably wouldn't make it to the finals anyways. They need two big stars to join the team in order to compete with the Warriors. They screwed up not getting Paul George..

It wasn't a mistake for lbj, it WAS a mistake for magic to sign him. There may be 1 or 2 top tier players that want to play with him, but for the most part, I'd say most have the same attitude towards him that Durant has 'thanks, but no thanks'.
Kawai has already said that he prefers the clips, durant has already said no thanks, ad is as injury prone as ball and irving is a cancer. Maybe you can lure Butler.
Then, if you just look at the team - incompetent front office, clueless owner, directionless team which is in complete disarray, what top tier player would want to step into this mess?
Essentially magic/pelinka are going to be asking top tier players to come here and 'save' the team.
On the other hand the clips have a very good front office, now that they kicked doc back to only being a coach, and added the BEST talent evaluator and closer in the NBA in Jerry West. When they talk to top tier talent they can say 'hey we have a good TEAM that plays TEAM ball and is just a couple of pieces away'. Which would you choose?
Which just PISSES ME OFF cause I've been a laker fan since I was 5 and HATE the clips!!!

^^^Don't see how another 1 and done's going to help lure top tier fa's. It's going to take at least 2-3 years for the pick to acclimate to playing in the nba.
I just can't see guys like Durant, who isn't coming anyway, or Kawai, who also isn't coming to the lakers, willing to play 'wait and see' to find out if the new pick will be a top, middle or bust.
