Your rates are your rates. When I get a rate that I can't afford or I don't think the services offered fornthe rate I generally make a note and move on. This is a hobby, one that people participate in when they can.
I've never tried to negotiate a lower rate. I find it to be tacky, others see it as a business deal.

Agree with mach5 and Ms.DR. if I can’t afford the rates I just wipe my tears away and move on. If you negotiate your rates and services with one it won’t be long before everyone knows about it. The converse is also true for us clients if we try to lowball rates it doesn’t take long for that info to be out there throughout the community.

Do not let them do that to you. It's like having a new puppy. You gotta house train them and when they piddle on the carpet you gotta rub their nose in it, smack them on the bottom and tell them No!! That's not what we do up in this house. No sir! You are the boss. You make the rules. They don't like it try professionally training.
I'm sorry this happened to you. I'll repeat what JM said. It's cause you're new and that are testing your boundaries.

Some people always bargain and can’t help themselves. There is a well known client who does this constantly and whatever but I find it hilariously tacky. Now if you think negotiation is possible then there are ways to do it gracefully but when it becomes a habit then word gets around.
End of day you are free to offer your rates and terms. Client is free to pay what he feels you are worth. Only when the two intersect does a transaction happen. That’s the market.
There are some guys who will balk at paying a penny more than 200 HH and I hear gripes about 20 more. Whatever. Pass on those guys if it bothers you.
On the other hand sometimes negotiating works in your favor. Everything has context.

Here is an example where negotiating might not be bad. A girl needs money now and is in dire straits (e.g. needs to come up with $100+ NOW because she is being kicked out of her hotel for non payment). In that case don’t expect to not be giving a discount to the guy bailing you out.

Just looking at the flip side. Both sides have a choice, I never saw the good in getting offended, just say thanks but no.

If a girl needs the money badly she will offer specials
Dont haggle people its tacky. If you cant afford the Lexus, maybe try a fiat .... if you cant afford a fiat , get a scooter... pretty much there is something for everyone . If your boss pulled you into his office and tried to negotiate your pay, how would you feel about that ?
There are also clubs that promote ladies who currently have specials due to needing money fast .. look into those instead. Doesnt hurt to be respectful

"expectations" are very different on hx than anywhere else
you don't have to talk about "the market" or "the going rate"
if its its too much for you, then its out of line with YOUR expectations

Yes and no. If you are easily offended by numbers and worth here in dollars then don’t do this. I am not saying this to be a dick. It’s just say if you get offended by someone saying you aren’t worth it and it ruins your day don’t do this. Because it will happen and unfortunately your looks are part of what we are willing to pay.
We can all be gracious but in the end if someone thinks you aren’t worth it then move on. Don’t empower them to upset you.

Not about having thick skin, it's about being kind . The thing is, if you really didn't like that person's looks why reach out in the first place. So that lets me know that men are seeking out women that they don't think are that attractive so they can get lower rates
If I told you that you were worthless because you have to pay to see women, use pills to get hard, and have long testicles id be the bad person
Point is.. why be mean? Say "ok thank you" and move along but do not dismiss bad behavior by saying "just have thick skin"

And really you dont even have to be kind. Most guys simply dont respond if they dont like my rates and thats ok with me. You can easily just not reply as well

So when you say lately are you referring to HX members? Or are you referring to other communities you may be a member of.? Just curious. In this community, IMHO, you will find that about 50% of the guys who contact you will "negotiate" with you in some way, shape or form. You have already received some excellent advise from some very trusted ladies in this community. You would be wise to follow their words of wisdom.
