Deepfake Technology
Sorry, not great at embedding videos so I linked it.
Anyway, this video is one of many similar ones that feature Bill Hader a guy that's great with impressions. In this case they took an old segment from Letterman where Hader starts do his Tom Cruise impression and his face seamlessly goes back and forth between his own and Cruise as he's talking.
It's really amazing and frightening at the same time. Think of all of the misinformation that we are on the brink of being served. What if, for example, we decide that we've had enough of Kim or the dude in Venezuela and we decide to create a perfect deepfake video of them threatening us to the extent that we have no choice to strike first?
What if a creative deep faker decides to superimpose well known female celebs into existing or purpose produced porn? This may be happening now, I don't know?
The possibilities are fascinating.
