Venezuela
For all the socialists out there, Bernie, Elizabeth, Alexandria......talk to some Venezuelans before you do something really stupid.
It sounds wonderful but has failed everywhere. Look to our neighbor to the south. They had vast riches of oil and a thriving country. Now people are fleeing by the thousands and eating out of trash bags......

Interesting issue-White landowners in South Africa having their land seized
Looks like 'white privilege' does not exist in South Africa as the government is seizing land without compensation.
The government offered far less than market value and what the owners felt the land was worth.
So the government is just going to seize the land without paying.

Sndwoody - classless Amazing how we have people on this site who show no class and make despicable comments, both in blogs and pms....They make comments that are to a point any human being would be appalled and then they are so weak they block the person....
Good luck dude, you have some serious anger and hostility issues.....
I don't want to converse with you either....

Double Standard - Hypocrisy Well, I have been patiently waiting for a blog here to talk about Peter Fonda and people being outraged at his tweet (or did I miss it somehow?).
And I am also patiently waiting for Sony Pictures to cancel the release of the movie he appears in....as quickly as ABC cancelled Roseanne in just a few hours after her tweet.
Oh that's right, Fonda's was against Donald Trump and his family...so that is OK.
So no blogs and Sony condemned Fonda but they don't want to hurt the movie maker who made the movie and Fonda only has a small part in the movie.....blah, blah, blah....
Hypocrisy at its best.....

I apologize. I would like to issue a formal apology for posting a picture regarding the Roseanne Barr Valerie Jarrett incident.
It was in bad taste and I was trying to be funny, but it was insensitive given the circumstances. It was not ever intended to be racist, but trying to poke some additional humor to a situation that obviously struck very hard with many people.
But I now would like to challenge many others on this site to take a closer look at what they post and even believe. What Roseanne Barr did was unspeakable, but likewise what Kathy Griffin, Michelle Wolf and Samantha Bee have done in the recent past also fall into a category of "across the line."
The intensity and outright hatred in this country is going too far. People on both sides have to scale it back so we can move forward as a nation. I don't like how our current President acts most of the time (although if you know many New York business people from Queens or the Bronx, you might have a better understanding), but I am in agreement with many of his policies. Further, from my perspective, the alternative choice was worse (and you Bernie supporters never even got a chance because of the process). We all can agree to disagree on political party and policy.
However, we must not drop into the abyss of vile and disgusting comments. I crossed the line and am sorry. But others are regularly crossing lines. We see it nightly with Colbert, Handler, etal, and an onslaught from comedians in their stand ups. Morning Joe, the View, and the list goes on and on, a daily outpouring of hatred and absolute PERSONAL disdain and mockery against the President.
Is it right to call someone the "C" word? I think not. But all we have so far is an apology from TBS and her and everyone is moving on. Not even a suspension let alone cancellation of the show. Ironically, Kathy Griffin came out saying Samantha Bee shouldn't apologize and Griffin actually took back her apology regarding the bloody head, so I guess she wasn't so sorry after all. I am sure someone will make a comment about what has happened to Griffin since....I have read it all. But what she did put her under scrutiny. You can't joke about a bomb in your carry or talk about killing the President. So be careful what lines you cross.
Also, I received a message from a member here that read:
"you are old and your ideas are no longer relevant to the world. Die off already"
Quite honestly, I believe THAT crossed the line as well. I may disagree with you but I certainly am not hoping for your demise.
So I challenge all of you....are you crossing lines? If so, should you maybe do what Kimmel said, "take a breath".
Let the investigations proceed. Whatever happens, happens. Let the elections carry out, and whoever is elected is elected. But also don't be so singularly focused that you can't see that 3.8% unemployment (18 year low) is a good thing. Wages are actually growing(up nearly 3%), we may be on the verge of some real progress in dealing with North Korea.
But don't forget about double standards and hypocrisy. Roseanne deserved to be cancelled. But an apology or even an apology taken back are probably not equal treatment. Are you being fair and balanced?....currently 90% anti Trump in network news doesn't seem very balanced to me.
But most of all, we can't get to a place where when we disagree with each other, we are saying I hope you die off or hold up a bloody head. Hopefully a civilized United States is better than that.
Have a good weekend.

Trump Dislocates Shoulder part 2 Mr. Horndog....
"You failed to mention there was also a surplus which is why Obama made that decision. The bottom line is, that it's not beneficial if you are a first time homebuyer."
Do you understand the FHA? They are REQUIRED to maintain a reserve in the event of foreclosures and defaults that are beyond the current insurance levels. They finally hit their REQUIRED 2% surplus number in 2015. The previous years they were well below that number. They are finally on solid ground.
Some of the problem in the 2013 crisis was reverse mortgages. And those are becoming even more popular. So you want the FHA to put its reserve building at risk....guess you also want the FDIC to lower their reserves also so when your bank defaults, you get nothing....LOL

Freedom of Speech When is it ok to express your 'freedom of speech'?
There are times and places where you, out of courtesy for your fellow citizens, should NOT speak out.
I sure don't want someone standing up in Church on Sunday and shouting out, I love Donald Trump and chanting Make America Great Again.
I wouldn't appreciate someone with a portable microphone to stand up in the stands at a Dodger game and shout about Hillary Clinton
It is NOT appropriate to stand up in an airplane and spout political rhetoric.
In the middle of a movie it is NOT appropriate to stand up, turn on a flashlight and recite political beliefs.
I have free speech, but cannot shout out in the middle of an auditorium, FIRE, Run for your lives.
I bet you can think of dozens of similar situations.
So why do we feel it is fully acceptable in the middle of awards shows that our stars talk politics?
Would you be accepting if David Duke and a dozen of his buddies paraded around at halftime of a Laker's basketball game and grabbed the microphone and preached about the KKK? I bet not.
But we continue to praise the Meryl Streeps of the world when they decide to preach their political beliefs during an awards show.....
