I needed that Louis Vuitton bag
Now I have seen everything.
Contra Costa County has issued some guidelines in pursuing looting cases.
This is totally off the rails. For the business owner who has lost the merchandise, does he or she really care whether the person needed it or not? Whether the business was closed due to Covid-19.
And does it matter whether the person broke the door to access or walked through the broken door.
Time for a house cleaning of the people who have totally lost sight of reality and negate law and order.
Here are the "guidelines".
1. Was this theft offense substantially motivated by the state of emergency, or simply a theft offense which occurred contemporaneous to the declared state of emergency?
a. Factors to consider in making this determination:
i. Was the target business open or closed to the public during the
state of emergency?
ii. What was the manner and means by which the suspect gained
entry to the target business?
iii. What was the nature/quantity/value of the goods targeted?
iv. Was the theft was committed for financial gain or personal need?
v. Is there an articulable reason why another statute wouldn't
adequately address the particular incident?

New Color Designations
Does anyone feel that our Governor just keeps moving the goal posts? We seemed very focused on hospitalizations and number of cases and those numbers are improving. But now we are changing up and focused on positivity test rates and number of cases.
Is it me or does positive test rate a far less accurate measure and far less meaningful than hospitalization? Were we not wanting to 'bend the curve'....to keep from overwhelming our hospitals? Guess that is no longer our intention.
I might expect we won't have lots of people who are asymptomatic going for a test. The new test location at the fairgrounds in OC got almost NO one showing up so far. If a person is healthy, working and going about their daily activities, I highly doubt they will run to get a test.
However, I might also expect that people who ARE symptomatic are going to be the ones who run out and get a test...DUH...that would make sense.
I guess then statistically the testing sample is terribly skewed toward positive tests. So unless we are going to get to a statistically reliable sample size of testing, pegging 2% positive rate for most businesses to open might never happen. Maybe that is the Governor's intention all along?????
And some of the smaller counties in the State who will have few tests taken, their numbers are even less reliable.
Once again, Newsom shows he really doesn't care about this State, but loves the power to control.

I am always amazed at what actually comes out of the mouths of the Hollywood types.
But I do believe this conspiracy theory posed by Jamie Lee Curtis might move into my top 10.
Trump supporter is stealing a mail truck so Trump can steal the election.
Yep, that is the ONLY explanation for a mail truck being on the bed of a tow truck.....

New York Times Editor
I would challenge all to read this resignation letter from one of the New York Times Editors who just departed today.
Of course, the left will deflect, deny, change the subject, and probably name call.
But far too many on the left feel that any other opinion is wrong and thus must not be raised.
Here is a bright, articulate journalist who was brought to the NY Times because they were so out of touch with America they totally missed the 2016 election. And now they are running her out because she was trying to diversify opinion and open dialogue. Rather, she was called names and ostracized by many of her peers.
That is not the America I want to see......

Best way to shut down discourse and dialogue is to post 13 straight comments on a blog.....
Guess if you fear rebuttal or negative comment, that resolves it.....

New Jersey Voter Fraud
Gosh, we don't need to worry about mail in ballots.....nothing wrong will every happen.....
Oops....this is just further evidence that wholesale mail in ballots can easily lead to voter fraud.
Of course, I am overreacting....and Republicans have NOTHING to worry about.....when elections can be decided by a few hundred votes, any fraudulent vote is one too many.
Can you trust someone else to ''deliver" your ballot. Maybe yes, maybe no. And can you trust the U.S. Postal Service getting the ballots in on time?

But tell me why the Democrats dumped on Scott and his Crime Bill...
It gave them nearly everything they wanted, but they actually called it a 'token'......to the black Senator who researched, worked hard, wrote it and offered to accept amendments.
Listen to his summary of what transpired as he tried to get this across the finish line.
I highly doubt any of the liberal and democrats on this site will take the time to watch this video.....
But it truly sums up the bullshit that is going on in Washington D.C.
They don't care about the people...all they care about is the power....
Our elected officials used to work together....and the blame is on both sides.
But at least the Republicans are putting forth something....something that NO Democrat put forth during the entire Obama-Biden 8 years.

Voter fraud
Everyone, just keep saying voter and election fraud does not exist but every election we see instances like this.
This is what can happen if a County Clerk decides to invalidate any of the absentee/mail in ballots. So are you sure you want to mail in a ballot?????
Yeah, and I don't want to hear, "oh it is only a few ballots and wouldn't swing an election", because many city elected officials win elections by a couple of hundred votes. And if every county has a few hundred votes invalidated, that adds up to thousands over an entire State.
Asking for identification It isn't voter suppression, it is assuring that real voters only have their ballots cast and counted.
Any objective person can see it....if a single ballot is cast by a 'dead person' or someone not registered to vote, that is one too many.

Monday Morning Quarterbacking
I truly love everyone who is jumping on Trump about timely response to Covid-19.
Obviously, most of you have never been in an Executive position where you must make hard decisions and the evidence is NOT all on one side. When everyone is saying one thing, those are easy decisions to make.
But when you are hearing from supposedly the best advisors in the country and the world, you probably will go with them.
The WHO and Fauci were both saying there was no huge problem during the entirety of January. Fauci even said on Feb 29 that the risk of Covid-19 to the American people was still low and there was no reason for people to change their habits. The WHO only declared a public health emergency on January 30, primarily based upon cases in China.
Everyone is jumping on Trump based upon the advice of Pete Navarro....who did give a warning on January 29, but obviously it was HIS opinion, He was the Director of Trade and an economist.....yep, I guess we should have taken HIS opinion over WHO and Fauci....Apparently some in this country will take the advice of their auto mechanic when it comes to their brain surgery......
Hind sight is always 20-20. Those who criticize Trump...who are mostly on the left....have they looked at the response of their OWN politicians....don't forget Nancy Pelosi, in late February, was encouraging everyone to come to Chinatown in San Francisco for Chinese New Year celebrations....that sure was helpful in containing the virus....
If Trump had prematurely shut down the country, everyone would have been all over him for screwing up the economy. He was trying to be careful and cautious moving forward. But he did initiate travel restrictions from China on January 31.
So after the fact, it is so simple to point to mistakes. There were some made, I will admit. But I didn't have to make those tough calls with countless advisors preaching multiple sides of the issue. But where were the Democrats in January? They were trying to impeach Trump. I sure don't remember seeing blogs here saying we should shut down this site, since contacts are being made from here....and we will die if we contact each other.
After the fact, we get things correct 100% of the time....much harder when the bullets are flying to make the tough choices....

Let's all hear what is going on
Two Oakland women broke into a home and have been living there since November.
The company that owns the home is trying to evict them.
These women don't own it, they have not rights to it, they just broke the law .
But that is OK for all the liberals on this site, including artnjazz.
Tell me how what they are doing is even close to right.......
So if Nancy Pelosi left on an extended vacation, it would be OK to just break in and camp out....yep!!!!!

Don't you wonder why they don't spend more time focused on REAL issues, like homelessness, feces in their streets, rising overall crime, being ranked #1 among cities in property crime, and the list goes on.
Far more concerned about those plastic straws. I guess they wouldn't want in the past or now don't want the following people who are members of the NRA coming to their city, since they are designated 'domestic terrorists'.
