Help Joy-Moon Walk Again 💖
Hi, my name is Joy-Moon, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and a little bit of fear. Not long ago, my life completely changed overnight. I had a spinal stroke while I was sleeping, and I woke up paralyzed from the waist down. I can’t feel or properly use my feet, legs, or waist, and walking is no longer something I can do on my own.
Before this happened, I was really looking forward to hosting and entertaining again — something that truly brings me joy. I love seeing people laugh, smile, and feel at home in my space. Entertaining is a big part of who I am, and I was so excited to get back to it. But now, everything has been put on pause while I focus on one very important goal: learning how to walk again.
Right now, I am in a very challenging season of my life. I am unable to work and will need to stay home with the help of a home nurse while I go through intensive physical therapy to regain as much mobility as possible. On top of the emotional and physical stress, there are heavy financial burdens:
- Rent and housing expenses as I adjust to this new reality
- Medical costs and physical therapy sessions to help me walk again
- Basic living and accessibility needs while I am unable to work
I created this GoFundMe to ask, from the bottom of my heart, for support during this time of transition and healing. Your help will go directly toward:
- Rent and housing stability so I don’t lose my home while I recover
- Physical therapy (PT) and treatments that give me a real chance to walk again
- Home care and daily living needs while I adjust to my new limitations
My dream is simple but powerful: to get back on my feet, return to what I love, and be able to entertain, host, and bring people together again. I miss feeling like myself. I miss moving around freely, decorating, welcoming people in, hearing laughter fill the room, and doing the things that once felt so normal.
