Youre human and allowed to make mistakes. It's great that you reached out to him and explained
Everyone needs a little kindness and understanding these days. I am glad everything was properly resolved.

I agree, youre human! Dont be so hard on yourself..it happens. Whats important is you owned it. And lucky you to have such an understanding client..he's a keeper!

Glad it turned out well for everyone.
I kinda always assume that the 'napping' excuse, while might be legitimate in some instances (like here), I would think its more common to use that excuse for other reasons that might not fit into the narrative that sells.
Case in point, I had a gal one time that while not ghosting me, was "just 15 more minutes" till I can meet you - long story short, that 15 minutes stretched out to near an hour before she admitted that she was waiting on a babysitter, who never showed.
Buzzkill!!!
Point being, some gals might use the easy excuse of falling asleep - to let a gent down easier rather than the truth of the situation.
I didn't, nor would I likely give any red marks for life happening - the average lady here's life is far more complicated & stressfull than mine I think.
Gents give the ladies a break here when they can't meet as intended for one reason or another.

I did same to Phucdover (no pun intended). Sent her text and before I was about to provide her my address I fell asleep.
Now though I want to see her I feel bad and do not know how to make it up to her. Consider this my open letter of apology Phucdover. Im sorry!

Its ok and understandable to make mistake,as long as you are a honest person.

I've done this but I've never asked for a pre-pay however, the guy drove all the way from OC to WeHo. I felt horrible! Thankfully, I've seen him before so he didn't hate me. I mean he probably briefly did, I would have hated me too, getting to WeHo is a bia.
I can't nap, only slumber. I need 2-3 alarms to wake up as it is. I want and need to sometimes but I have to power through it because the aforementioned may happen. As fun as this can be at times, it's also pretty exhausting in more ways than one.
I'm glad he understood. I'm sure he appreciated you calling yourself out here. Things happen for a reason though and Junes right, we are only human. That's a good person there for you though.

Everyone makes mistakes, don't be so hard on yourself.
I'm glad your story had a happy ending.

Thanks for your share.
Correspondingly, from my side I had one woman last year whom I cancelled on (due to my "availability" disappearing) at the last moment (via text) not once, but twice. She understood and we did meet the third time.
I SO appreciated her understanding my situation, and working with me. (And rewarded her appropriately.)
We are all human.

I have been on the other side of this. For me I am totally understanding if there is communication. If there isn’t that’s an issue.
Shit happens. Most of the time the girl is cool and makes it up to you.

The real question is, why are so many women falling asleep before an appointment? If you're that tired, don't set it up! It's certainly not going to be a great experience for the guy...

What did I miss? I just woke up from a nap.

prepay is bs unless its for an uber or a small tab,
pretending its ok is also not ok

I look at postings at 3 or 4 am as a warning sign that this could happen.
Thanks Helena for being up front about this. Even though you didn't have to be. A little sugar can go a long way.

Once made an appointment in Irvine for 11am. Texted at 10:55am "I'm in the area". At 11:20am, I finally received a response. "I'm driving from LA now". Annoying at the time, kind of funny in retrospect.

For all thinking I made him prepay, I did not. He asked if he could (to which i was going to decline) and sent the remainder on his own.
I do NOT require a deposit from all new friends.
However it is one of my screening options.
Why? Some new friends do not feel comfortable sending a redacted ID and Their "real" phone number. Cashapp allows them to maintain a certain level of anonymity while also ensuring my safety. Federal banking laws mean their "real" identity is tied to their cashapp even if it says some Bs name. Meaning if they decide to rape/murder/assault/rob me or whatever, they could easily be tracked down by LE.
IT ALSO serves the purpose of virtually ensuring that my new friends are not (on duty) LE. WHY? They have stringent guidelines about funding and showing where money is going. While entirely possible they could send me a deposit, it is highly unlikely that LE would do so. It's high risk acticivity for their funding all to pop my rinky dink operation. Lol. Juice ain't worth their squeeze so to speak.
Why am I a safe provider? Because I screen! Who doesn't screen? Someone sketchy who would serve to do you harm, and/or LE.
Had i woken up past the appointment time, I would have returned the entire amount and offered to reschedule at a discount.
Fortunately no animals were harmed in the making of this production
