For the head scratchers out there:Metro's highly anticipated D Line Extension Section 1 opens at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, with subway service to three new art-filled stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega. Also:"Ride the D" refers to viral merchandise and marketing for the LA Metro D Line Extension, opening May 8, 2026, which connects Koreatown to Beverly Hills. The cheeky slogan, featuring a purple "D" in a circle, became a social media sensation.

i would do unspeakable things to someone who got me one of those official shirts lol
i guess they sold out rather quickly
|
|
|
They’re still selling! And in crop.
|
|
|
Ill wear a thin top in case there will be vendors. They would be silly not to take advantage of this opportunity.

🤔 metro slogan should be:
“Ride the D and get hepatitis from the homeless guy sitting next you”
|
|
|
They don’t enforce the ticket policy. This is why theres filthy homeless people riding. I feel bad for anyone who doesn’t have a car. I will take it depending on the parking and location but I’m always vigilant about the sanitation problem. I am seeing more and more people placing pads on the seats before they sit down.

Thank you. I'm about to get one of those shirts right now 🙂

Ride the D, don’t mind the pee

Id rather ride the D than get into a car accident. With all the belligerent road ragers and negligent commuters I hear about, it feels less and less safe on the road. And metro has said it can get to BH in just 19 minutes. Uber driver can’t do that unless it’s morning on a Saturday.

I would love to use public transit, but my issue is it doesn't seem to be fast.
My experience is I want to get to dodgers stadium from the Westside.. it takes the same amount of time in a car then on the rail. Yes I don't have to be behind the wheel so less aggravation but where is the other benefits.
Then when the game is over . I can hop on my car and get home in half the time it would take to be on the rail.. it makes no sense.

The irony here is that by the late 1920's Los Angeles was considered to have thee greatest public transportation network in the world. Think the P.E. Red/Blue/Yellow/Green/etc Lines. All that infrastructure ripped up, only to be put back for much more mula.

Loved to take the Metro through Macarthur park. Would stop off and see SKG when she had a place near there and then get rye bread at Langers. Had a place in DTLA so it was much better than driving.
Also note about taking Metro to the game. Getting out of the park and parking are two factors that weigh against taking your car. Yes after the game you can jump in your car and then wait 30 minutes to get on the freeway. On the bus, I am back at Union Station in that time.

Now I'm seriously gonna try to find Miss Alice one of these shirts!!!!

I love to ride the D, yes that way Louis.

Randy, those 3 stops make a lot of sense to be art filled. I might jump on there just to see. When I was a lot younger I had a piece run for a year at LACMA which was pretty cool and the whole exhibit was interactive.

Aww hornytoad such great memories !!
I lived DTLA for 13+ years, halfway through it I sold my car it was a hassle more than a luxury for me anyway.
The metro was the way to go, if you can figure it out and always bring something to sit on lol
I remember when they opened it up all the way to Santa Monica Beach, AWESOME !!

I'd wear this version but am looking for a screen printer that does not care about lawsuits and would make it for me.
