Theres a lot going going on there! I think with the sharp rise in provider prices over the last couple years coupled with the fact that our economy is outgrowing our income, your average (or maybe even above average Joe at this point) just can't swing the prices anymore. I know I've for sure cut way back.
Then you have the K-Orgs which have providers that are way cheaper, still very good looking and have a wider menu (not that I'm into anything weird or unsafe) but the options are there.
Lastly new California law has made it so you can be charged with human trafficking for being a booker or a john in these types of arrangements.
Too many factors starting to add up and I think a lot of guys are just opting out. Unless you 5 or 6 roses to throw away now a days, just to get the full experience from someone, and are willing to risk a felony, theres not a lot of good options out there. SD also has a housing crisis. More homes than ever are secondary homes being rented for passive income which means the income in the area is deceptive.
Bottom line is people are going to pay for what they can get their best bang for their buck, no pun intended.
I mean no disrespect, I've always wanted to both Desire and Helena cause it looks like a hell of a good time but the factors start to add up. Maybe LA is just better for business, idk.

For me personally, I began to slow down after 2017 when the orange man passed the big trafficking laws. Hobbying became a little riskier and I stopped taking as many chances as I did in the past. I find ladies on HX to be a lot more reasonable in pricing (compared to other sites), but yes costs have gone up and rates will also increase which is understandable. As long as ladies offer great service, I don't mind the cost. I tend to stick to more established providers with good feedback from the gentlemen on the site for safety reasons. Although there are a lot of new beautiful ladies out there who I wouldn't mind meeting (I'm a bit shy). One thing that I have been more cautious about lately is location. I tend to stay away from sketchy establishments and prefer "nicer" incalls. But again, I understand that is an overhead cost and can eat up profit. Hoping to slowly make my way back to the hobby because its alot of fun. Thank you ladies for what you do (and gents)!

It’s tax time  it’s always a tad quieter around this time… and the weather is getting nice again so people are traveling and getting back out to their many hobbies

I agree with a lot of the above. There are a lot of factors in play now. I feel more than ever, especially the last two years.
Personally for me, I too would love to see both Desire and Helena but its just in the near future for me. There are a lot of beautiful women here and when I win the lottery, I plan on meeting all of you. 
With that being said, there are a lot of things I take into consideration when I am able to do stuff. Its not you ladies, I blame the econ.

Wow @Deterdeter2, I didn't know that "johns" can get charged with human trafficking now too!
That is kind of scary and really puts that into perspective with me. I mean you can definitely fight that charge as a "john" but human trafficking carries 25 to life and you don't want to put yourself in that kind of situation. Wow!
I'm in OC, so definitely the orange county DAs will for sure charge you with human trafficking first to see if it will stick. Yikes!

I get where you're coming from, right now people are hesitant to spend, acting as if money can just be held onto indefinitely.
That affects providers too. Rising costs for hotels, travel, gas, food, and safety all add up.
At the end of the day, it's a simple equation: profit versus cost of goods.
If the expenses to provide a safe, quality experience keep climbing, donations have to reflect that. It's not about "overcharging"
it's about covering costs and keeping the service sustainable.
It has to make sense for providers as well as the gents.
I love HX.. I think it will always hold a special place in my heart. BUT it has really changed... like a lot.
I'd like to say it's because of this or that... but I think it's more of what we as a community have let it become.
If that makes any sense.

It hasn't been slow when I stick to my reputable friends but it seems like the quality of people have had gone down hill tremendously
Lots of flakes and no shows and tons of cheap people who want to purchase a yacht with row boat prices.

I agree the rates have gone up in the past few years. The skills of the lady’s have also gone down. They want big money but don’t put in the work. Seeing new lady’s is always a hit or miss these days. I think a lot of us guys rather stick to our regulars so we already know what to expect and the trust is already there.

I feel like thats true on both sides.
Some people do not have the same... work ethic.
They just want something for nothing
But there are a lot of gents who also want something for nothing.
