11400 4th St, Rancho Cucamonga
As far as I know, no one has found a good one since that one went down because of covid.
Covid took out a lot of mom and pop restaurants.

Adventure awaits you, perhaps in Cuba, Florida, or New York. While our community culinary talent is vast, the busy California rhythm leaves us little time to host each, Im afraid.

They used to own Versailles Cuban Food- Venice Blvd.
It's a nice small place with friendly staff. Some nights there's music and dancing.

You can try Mambos Cafe in Burbank. It's been a while since I have been there but it was pretty good.
It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives twice.

I feel you, OP. My buddy Tony was a bartender at this Cuban place in Miami 30 years ago. He dated this really hot showgirl named Lola. She wore yellow feathers in her hair and her dress was cut down to there.
Anyway, she was an expert at merengue and the cha-cha. She really wanted to be a star. The place they worked at, I can't remember the name of it, but it was the hottest spot north of Havana where music and passion were always the fashion.
One night this gangster looking dude named Rico came in and was besmitten by Lola and called her over to his table. This guy was a real piece of work and got real handsy. Tony lost his shit, jumped over the bar, smashed a chair in two and attacked Rico. There was blood everywhere and then the fight was over from a single gunshot.
After Tony's funeral, Lola never really recovered. She still dressed the part, but losing Tony took the sparkle out of her life. The nightclub eventually turned into a disco, then a hair metal club, grunge bar, etc. Now she just sits at the bar drinking herself half-blind.
Sad story... the moral is, don't fall in love.

The Versailles chain in LA is well-established and well-known for a reason. The food is consistently excellent and service is typically great.
Someone with a long standing affiliation with Versailles (head chef?) defected (pun intended) several years ago to Orange County and opened Bella Cuba in Santa Ana. It's literally right across the street from South Coast Plaza. Menu is nearly identical in offerings, quality and taste.

You should (or not) see what Covid took from the lower class Cubans. Real shame.

Have you tried Coco Palm in Pomona? it's right next to the Pomona Mining company. I've been several times even though Cuban is not my favorite. Real popular place.

I love Versailles in Culver City, but I must warn you, do not go there on a M-F during the lunch hours.
If you do, you will wait between 30-45 minutes for your food to arrive. Yes, it's that popular.
I'm visiting the Los Angeles location this weekend.

This is a great blog! I love good Cuban food; however, I had never heard of these places. Whenever I visit Miami, I go to La Carreta and Versailles. Both places are well-established and quite popular.

Coco Palm in Pomona is a good spot. The food is good, but I think its better known for its ambience. Located on top of a hill near the Pomona Valley Mining Company.
I tried Versailles in Miami and it was underwhelming. I think it was overhyped in my opinion.
