Sorry that happens. I think it’s incredibly rude to try to negotiate rates. If I get someone’s info and their rates are outside my budget I just don’t make an appointment.

When looking at a classified unless it says OBO I take it as the amount is firmly set.
I know some providers negotiate, so maybe the OBO should be a thing now.

I agree with the first poster, I do not try to negotiate. That said, it is not uncommon for gals to be very vague on $ or come back with the question of “what do you want to pay”, which gets really awkward. Sorry the community is being diffcult!

The only time I 'negotiate' is when someone contacts me on short notice & I tell them how much I have at the time.
