iOS 18.7 and the App Store

I can’t find the App Store on my Apple devices. I suspect it’s because I’m running iOS 18.7 instead of iOS 26. I’m waiting for 26.1 or maybe 26.1.1 before I upgrade. I wonder if anyone else has noticed the disappearance of the App Store.

I did a search on two devices. It’s not there.

This is weird.

I haven’t tried iOS 26 yet. I think there is some cool stuff but I forget what it is. A lot of people don’t really like the Liquid Glass look but there are ways to tone that down.

It gets rid of the spam phone calls. It can make it so that a caller must identify themselves prior to the phone actually ringing. For someone like me whose phone rings all day with spam calls, this is a god send.

I don’t get spam calls. Maybe it’s because I have the Scam Shield by T-Mobile app.

I can live without the App Store for a while. I’m hoping I will get it back when I upgrade to iOS 26.

The weird thing is that the App Store still shows up in Settings under Apps. It doesn’t appear in Spotlight searches and I can’t find it in the folder where it used to be. This is happening on two different devices. When I get back to LA I will see if it’s the same on a third device.

I solved the problem. It had to do with settling I had changed in Screentime under Content & Privacy Restrictions. I use that to keep anyone that gets ahold of my device out of my Apple Account.
