I have no sympathy for big game hunters, as far as I'm concerned he got what was rightfully coming to him. Good riddance.

An American Bison weighs about the same. We know how angry they get when a tourist tries to take a selfie with them. I can only imagine how they would react if they had a high powered rifle pointed the their direction.

This could only get better if the cape buffalo had set fire to the offices of Coenraad Vermaak Safaris, hacked their website, and then donated money to environmental causes in their name.

There's a reason they are called Black Death. They are a focus on the new season of Alone in Africa. If you go after them just expect them to return the favor I suppose.

While I was in South America we got too close to some water buffalos.
Fortunately the boat was faster.
Within wild water buffalo populations, individuals weigh up to 1,200 kilograms (2,600 pounds), though cows weigh around two-thirds of that.
I love hunting. The rule is to eat what you kill.
Fishing is the same or catch and release
One could never bring meat back home from Africa . Legally yes.
By the time all the inspections were completed the meat would have spoiled

Hippos are always on the rag.
They have in domesticating water buffaloes for quite some time.

cape buffalo don't play
get too close for their comfort, you better be a very good shot or in a jeep faster than they are

I think you go fishing.
Because you practice catch and release

Like Richard Pryor told us, Cape Buffalo are the baddest muthafukkers out there

The story said the attack was "unprovoked"? I think having a rifle pointed at human or animal could cause a provoked reaction.

risk and reward right
most things worth doing have inherent risk.
even as mundane as water-skiing or hiking
btw i would not ever shoot an animal for trophy
but hunting is something ingrained in our human nature
i prefer fishing now though - got a 200 lb tuna once and yes i ate it..
