I've seen a lot of times in the past decades when the local police are either:
a)overwhelmed by "mostly peaceful" protesters, or
 didn't want to do shit due to local politics
Think: Occupy Wallstreet, BLM, Ferguson, and yes Rodney King (just to name a few)
Where the National Guard SHOULD have been called sooner if they were called at all.

I have friends who live in and near DTLA. The media is blowing everything out of proportion, feeding Trump's false narrative that LA is out of control and needed military support. It's complete bullshit.
LE outnumbered peaceful protestors 2 to 1 yesterday.
This Saturday, June 14, there will be massive "No Kings" protests all over the country (1,800 protests) protesting Trump's authoritarianism. These protests were already scheduled long ago.
Trump was hoping to fan the flames of unrest in order to use the protests in LA to impose martial law to prevent these legal and organized protests from happening.
Understand what is going on here.

ICE created the problem last Friday in Paramount, CA, by raiding a Home Depot to detain day laborers, outraging the 80% Hispanic community. Trump then escalated the problem by illegally calling in the National Guard and then compounded the problem by calling in the Marines.

2. Use heavy-handed tactics to "control" the problem that he created,
3. Use the problem he created to abridge people's rights and gain more power.

That’s what you are seeing here. Sure, there are some troublemakers who burned a few Waymo cars and tagged a bunch of buildings. Those people should suffer the consequences to the fullest extent of the law. But the vast majority of protesters are peaceful.
AND many of the images and videos that you’re seeing are from 2020, including the horseshit that James Woods is posting.

What has happened over the past few days is nothing compared to what happened in 2020. It is being blown out of proportion in order for Trump to justify using excessive force, institute martial law, and attempt to thwart the 1,800 protests scheduled for this Saturday (the same day as his embarrassing military/birthday parade).
