I find Lyft cheaper, and have never had a problem setting up a ride in advance.

If you are thinking about renting a car check with your hotel first to see what they charge per day for parking. Downtown it seems the hotel parking charges are astronomical. Maybe uber knows that and set their rates accordingly

You don't need to use the Reservation part of the App. Just request after you get your bag.
Although drivers usually don't like to take short trips so it may take a minute as your request will get passed around a few drivers.
Think I was like 12th in line that I got the trip I was looking to go towards home.

I just got back from a trip a couple of weeks ago and it cost me $22 +$5 tip = $27 for a taxi home. I live 2 miles from the airport. Not exactly cheap but not budget breaking either. I didn't check Lyft or Uber that night but I just checked now and Lyft is $12 and Uber is $16. Obviously rates can change depending on time of day/demand. Regardless what city I'm in I've always found Lyft to be cheaper than Uber. Have fun in America's Finest City!

Ride share rates are dependent on the number of cars availability at any given time, so it'll always be more expensive at rush hour and cheaper during low traffic times; so plan your trips accordingly.
