Not sure about from the ladies side of things but it feels like there is a slow down from the mens side. We are teetering on a recession and when people get nervous they tend to hold onto their wallet. Discretionary spending is the first thing to get the cut back.
As far as rates go, I doubt you see many womens menus, but I do and rates have increased drastically over the last few years.
Your last question implies that our bitches here are not "upscale" and you are dead wrong on that

In any business model, higher prices are associated with excellent service and increased value.
Unfortunately, this industry has no correlation between higher prices = higher levels of service and increased value.
Bottomline, is that patrons will only pay what they're willing to part with from their wallet, and the misconception that there is a secret " BALLERS " society out there that will pay excessive prices for anything is pure ignorance. Rich people didn't get rich spending their money, they got rich by investing and saving and being frugal with their money.

On the economy, things are slow. In the logistics industry, I’ve gotten reports that the Docks in Long Beach have been slow. There are also reports that tourism is down in Hollywood, some say that is also slow in Vegas.
Plus, we haven’t really seen the effects of Trumps tariff’s yet, we will see them from June - Oct.
There are indicators that point to a recession, times are getting tough but if we follow Warren Buffet’s (he might be consider a “cheapskate”?) strategy is to have cash on hand…

Prices have doubled in recent years, what I used to pay for an hour now I pay more for half the time
As others have said, we are in a wait and see situation, some I'm sure have cut back, others have stopped, or moved along to other avenues (tinder, bars etc)

I think a good part of the equation is 'regular customers'. I have several ladies I see regularly. They know and trust me, know I always tip, and we have a mutually agreed upon acceptable donation.

No doubt the current economic situation has an effect on our endeavors. It is time to cut back on expenses and develop a plan to hold out until the crises subsides.
My last couple of trips to the OC, which is usually very good for me, were very lackluster. I may stay away from SoCal for a period of time and try to increase my east coast exposure.
Maybe it's the economy, or maybe it's just me! Doesn't really matter either way, if whatever I am doing is not working then it is time to try something else. Not going to just sit around and complain about it!

Im always perplexed, when i try to book a girl in Vegas.
The same ladies that I can see here in Southern Cal, up there prices. Ok I dont see the correlation between the services depending on city to city. Its the same service. Maybe its because most are doing outcalls and have to pay for the ride to the location to the customer.
Guess they see a bigger wallet there

Sasha I agree with you, I’m lucky to be doing well and have the means to see the ladies I like. I prefer to see one or two ladies at a time, this away they get to know me and what I enjoy. I like to play then take the ladies out for dinner or some event she might enjoy. I like making friendships and not just be a transaction.

IMO, when backpage went down HX was flooded with low end crews, PIMPles and overall much of the great talent here bolted for other outlets.
Many girls were already on other sites where they charged more for services, but remained on HX for reliable engagement. Then backpage went down and HX over the next few years went down in quality too. I think many of those just leaned more and more on those other sites rather than fighting it out here.
Now mix in the bad economy (California, specifically SoCal is worse off than many other places in the country) and seems that and all the above would explain why things are so slow right now - esp in SoCal.
I've been broke as hell the last couple years, so my views are possibly outdated as I haven't really been much of an active hobbyist....but that's the how i see it. I've been around a bit going back to Troothsayerz days so I do at least off some longterm perspective...

It's funny how Rideshare goes hand and hand with this industry. Fortunately it keeps me mobile so I can see those who otherwise could.
Lately some have become wise and ask for a bit less than a round hundred.
Value has become more than looks.

Prices on HX have more than doubled since first discovering the site.
Personally, I think prices should have never been increased & should’ve stayed exactly where they were…inflation & the depreciation of the asset being sold shouldve counter-balanced each other (don’t know anything else that becomes more expensive the more it gets used & ages)

You ladies work hard, and we appreciate the position you’re in (no pun intended), but it’s a tug of war. Us gents need you, you need us but then there is the matter of resources, meaning $$. If there is a scarcity of $$, than it puts pressure on the supply. If there is too much supply, it puts pressure on the $$. We’re all this together so don’t get discouraged ladies, human nature will bring us back to your door. Just take good care of the goods. Gym, Zumba, yoga, hydration, meditation.

I would prefer a long term friendship of one or two times a month with someone I connect with. This means I look at the long term. That being said I will pay a high donation for a onetime Funtime but prefer someone who is looking at the long term as well.
Example: I always price my rental properties just a bit under the market. This gives me a larger group to screen and ultimately tenants that stay for longer terms. One or two months of an empty rental is much more costly than an extra hundred or two per month

I think so many in the Los Angeles area forget that the major amount of money spent in La is from the film industry. There were two major strikes which cost the state of California over 5 billion dollars. This did not just affect those that work in the industry, but also those that work in retail, and food, and vendors. Film work as a whole has not come back to normal levels still leaving many unemployed and not making or spending money.

My humble two cents. I also go back to TruthSayers' days. I've since renewed my account once because I was in a formal relationship and so decided to erase my last account. I wish I still had it, but anyhow, I have seen prices triple what they were 15 years ago. I've also seen the power here shift to all Asian hubs. I used to see six to eight ladies a month; now, if I see one or two a year, I consider myself lucky. Times have changed for the worse here, but they should get better soon (hopefully).

While there’s always some tension between buyers and sellers there’s certainly increased misalignment right now with all the economic uncertainty and inflation. With less demand, it feels like the advantage should be with the buyers. On the flip side living expenses have certainly gone up and you could reasonably expect donations to reflect that.
Those with stella networks and reliable top-notch service will always do fine but it may be time for those on the margins to reconsider their menu and expectations.
Hopefully this too will pass and we can get back to boom boom times again very soon.

@justanotherdude Believe it or not, I have not had any issues at all being a level 0. The way the rating system works here, I will always be a 0 because I mainly see 0s. I am completely fine with that. But it is a conversation for another day/place/time, I was just speaking nostalgically and also as a badge of honor, nothing else 😁

Economics 101. Supply, demand, price and quantity. Reduce price and demand should increase. Easy for me to say, but you might consider a so called “ price adjustment “. ( I miss you Miss Bliss!)

Although a lot of us hobbyists do this for enjoyment, providers are in this lifestyle of supplemental income to support their lifestyles.
The cost of hotel rooms have skyrocketed, gas is expensive and bills still have to be paid. So yes it’s only natural for rate hikes. Plus I feel like the number of bad actors have doubled on both sides so charging a little more weeds out certain clientele .
However on the flip side of things disposable income is not as available as it was 5-10 years ago, and sometimes it’s not a matter of affordable but being discreet. Plus availability from both sides is sketch.
That’s why I like this site. The rating system still works and accountability still makes for the best experience.

Agreed. The rating system and subsequent confidence factor make this doable. I've tried in outside locations and the time, effort and unknowns just make it barely worth it, even in a pinch.
I really don't like what the houses have done here. Multi's on a handle didn't used to be tolerated so why does this model get a bye? For the support, sure, but it's hurting the platform in other ways. I can't say how much it's eliminated competition but it has become harder to find my thing here.
My current $ituation is actually better than ever and are only going to get better. My lifelong frugal habits, which have never been more irrelevant, get in my way.

Onlyfans created an alternative for many women who were open to providing, but prefer another, less 'in person' way to service their followers. Less women in the game led to less competition for providers and fewer options for clients.
Now, add to that the insane inflation from 21-23 and you get the pretty hefty (as many have said here, 1.5x to double in many cases) cost increase the escorting industry has seen since about 2018.
Many clients, while maybe not HAPPY to pay those major increases, were WILLING to do so when economic times were good....
When the economy takes a downturn or threatens to do so, and you have clients already feeling like the costs were a bit out of control even compared with inflation...... you get a large percentage of the client base deciding to cut their spending in this area significantly.
My answer to the ladies who have seen a significant drop off in their business lately - if you've been doing this for awhile, and you had a pretty standard result, and lately, you've seen a drop off.... it's likely the economy and not YOU to blame (assuming you have not made any significant changes to your looks, service, or pricing).
That said, if the economy is the issue, the answer is more affordable pricing (and while you CAN lower your standard pricing, nothing says you have to. Alternatively - do limited time 'recession' specials, or 'morning specials' on checkout day, etc etc.) Once you've tested things out maybe you find a new equilibrium to operate at a different price point but earn much more.
Don't want to cut prices to get volume back? Get a MUCH better marketing strategy capable of finding the clientele you need to pay the price you ask.

Marissa they always said how can you tell when the economy is doing bad is check the strip club. Strip clubs have become a thing of the past. So how can we tell now? check the escorts. I went to get a massage and even a chick there told me business is super slow. What does this cause is they want to charge more for the lack of customers. Also why spend certain amount here when someone can just travel overseas and have a better time with chicks in the 19-35 age range. The world has grown the community has expanded internationally. And the women are competing for the men who have disposable income. Best case lower the rates. Your competition is now other escorts, sugar babies, and now average women who can’t afford rent, international women in other countries. Good luck.

From my perspective, some people are tightening their belts while others are not as affected. There is more competition for money than ever, and EVERYTHING costs more. Since the incident in 2022, I haven't seen anyone from this site (check the safety blog for more information).
That incident prompted me to reassess and perform due diligence to reduce my online footprint.
In 2024, I found another site where I connected with someone new to the scene. It was an excellent year for us until she moved to Chicago.
These days, I prefer to stay close to home. Given all the fear, uncertainty, and doubt circulating, I will continue to be cautious with my money until there is more clarity.

I used to contribute a fair amount to this community, but dropped out a year & a half ago. At 78 with COPD, I went through an hour on adrenaline (very good time) but thought I might die on her doorstep as soon as the door closed behind me.
Since then only one outcall which was pretty good but she was just doing her job. At my age even pretending to be attractive to a woman under 60 is delusional.
Used to have regulars who really liked seeing me. Now I have even let my ability to reply to mail lapse.
Doubt that the absence of my $1500/month will account for the economic downturn, but any provider that likes kissing, cuddling & oral who does outcall (don't want to die at your place) can message with their phone#.
Turning 81 in a few weeks. Anybody have grand-daddy issues? Sort of an Ad, but I could still contribute to the economy.
