'sweatpants and hoodie' is not casual dress, but to each their own. It could be considered cold or exercise weather in the rain.
Consider jeans or khakis and a t-shirt, with maybe a good pair of sneakers or cole haan casuals is.
There is casual, business and formal attire.

Normally I’m a power suit, Ferragamo shoes, nice watch ( show your character like Hamilton, etc, fabulous tie …..
That said …. There is something about a military man in full dress blues or whites with those white gloves.
It is just the white gloves !!!
Same can be said about a man in great boots and a great hat!!
