Hi everyone ! Does anyone know a nice Airbnb or anyone who hosts an Airbnb on here that does t mind using it for work purposes ? I dislike hotels I’d rather be comfortable when I work vs feeling like I’m being watched. Any suggestions help

The fear of being watched is what makes me nervous to host out of an AirBnB. Ring cameras...Nanny cams...nosey neighbors. I'll be following to find out if anyone has a lead on one that is cool to host from.

I have mixed feelings on the subject. I have rented a couple in the recent past, (both in OC), they were much nicer than staying in a hotel room but I was super nervous during both of my stays. They both had RING cameras pointing at the entrances that record both audio and video.
I know this because I used to own one. You can watch your cameras activity live on your phone. Or if there’s any movement by the front door it records it and you can watch it later. Anyway that being said it’s not ideal. And if the person happens to be pretty strict on who comes in and out of their home And they’ve clearly stated in the rules of the rental that they have a maximum amount of people that can stay and you’re violating that rule, they could either get you kicked off Airbnb altogether or call the authorities if they think you’re doing something suspicious I don’t know for sure but that’s my opinion on the subject. Do with that what you will, but for now I’m sticking to hotels. Hope this helps a little. Good luck. And I’d be interested to hear other people‘s opinions on the subject as well, so I’ll be checking out this blog periodically to see what other people have to say on the matter.

I prefer hotels with outside access. And no not the Motel 6 kind of outside access. Two of my favorite are the Residence Inn in Costa Mesa and the Sonesta in Fountain Valley.

full tinfoil hat stuff here -

but:

AirBnb with Ring camera etc all work on Wifi. Taping over them only covers that one camera.

Need to unplug router etc bc the nanny cams and hidden ones will all run off that.

But then you need to find the power for it and even then you dont know if you get them all.

Really depends on you level of comfort.

Hotel has way more traffic in room and brings its own issues but no hidden cameras allowed there at least.
