Sold everything, left California. Zero debt and way happier life. Bought a big diesel tank for my truck, visiting without buying and fuel. Use points from traveling the free world to get free hotels in California when I go. I go out of my way to not even pay sales tax in California. More money to see my favorite ladies too!

It’s not just a matter of how much money comes in to your bank account but how much leaves. I have not been blessed with my own family. So I don’t have multiple mouths to feed. When I go out to a restaurant, it costs me $30, not $200. I don’t have family support garnishments in place. So many of my employees spend so much money on garnishments on “mistakes” they made early in life. And rightfully so. It takes two to tango. All my money that comes in is mine to do with as I please.
On the flip side, I lead a pretty solitary life. I don’t have the joys that come from having a family. Or that come from their care as I get older. It’s all a trade off.

I race cars, play tennis and fondle women.
BUT, I am my own boss and I have the weekends off.

I've been retired for years.

I am in Finance, so I get 6 weeks off a year, not counting sick days, and government holidays. I am basically on conference calls 3 times a day, and send out 8 emails a day. I go to the gym and walk my dog during these conference calls, and they give me a company card to occasionally take a client out to lunch, but I usually take more mother instead.
I can’t wait to get promoted again, so I can get an assistant to do my note taking and draft my 8 emails.
Party on 🍆

I do as little as possible for a living. I actually tried retiring for a few years, really gave it my best shot. But it turns out, the whole 'doing nothing' thing is harder than it sounds. After a while, I started getting bored, picked up too many hobbies that did not stick, bought 3 motorcycles, 2 mtn bikes, started playing pickle ball "fuck, really, pickleball"..
I mean, my friends were still out there working, and I was just... lounging around waiting for them to get done for the day, pretending to be a professional napper. Problem was I wanted to go out and they had to be in bed by 9, okay new plan...
So, I’m back at it, doing just enough to make it look like I’m busy. Nothing better than a weekly occurring meeting on my office calendar for others to read "Client Bonding: Weekly Connection" that last 3 hours every Tuesday Morning. "you never know!"
