Jimbo, you are somewhat correct that the poor people did not get a tax cut. But they don't pay taxes...so pretty hard to benefit from a tax cut when you pay little or nothing.

So, the under $9,000 did not get a tax rate reduction, but those people pay no taxes after taking the standard deduction anyway. The next 3 categories got 3, 3 and 4% reductions. The people in the middle got the greatest tax rate cuts. So, it wasn't just billionaires who got a break.
