I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them. My babies are great. a little crazy but they bring me so much joy. They such characters each one has its own weird traits and personalities. Frenchies can be unhealthy if you are trying to find one that is cheap. Backyard breeders are causing lots of problems for the breed. Las Vegas just shut down and illegal breeder and they took 34 frenchies to the shelter to be adopted out. I would highly suggest fostering a pup thru a rescue. I have a baby that is super chill and one that climbs fences. They are all so different. They have different needs.
I have one that must have some part of her body touching me when it is bed time. One who sleeps at the end and as far away to avoid touching.
I will never have any other breed. All of mine are healthy. Good breeder = Healthy Puppy
You will pay either when you purchase a healthy one or you will pay at the vet if you go to some backyard breeder. The first one will be your least expensive route.
If you have any questions EVER please PM and ask. I love this breed and if we all share the good info and we help protect the breed we can lessen the health concerns and help them live their best life!

French Bulldogs
One of the smarter and fun breeds there is!
One issue with them is they are brachiocephalic. That means the way their skull is their eyes protrude i.e." Bug eyed dogs." Many of the more popular breeds are brachiocephalic including my favorite the King Charles Cavalier. Others are the English Bulldog, Boston Terriers, Shit you not Shis Tzus, Pugs etc. What happens with this group is the eyes protruding can cause problems. They bump into things with their eyes and with only 10% of the nerve endings in the cornea compared to non-brachiocephalic breeds most times they don't realize they've injured their eyes. Tear film is like blood to the anterior segment of the eyes. It exchanges nutrients and wastes and transports oxygen. There is no blood supply to the front of the eye so any problem with any of the 3 different tear glands and a loss of vision occurs. KCS or "dry eye " effects both humans and dogs the same way. However, if you see tear staining around the eye that's not a cosmetic problem, it's eye disease that leads to in some cases blindness for us as well. We don't get tear staining because we don't have hair around our eyes. It's caused by a compound named perforin in tears that is made from iron. Tear staining is basically rusting or oxidizing. These can be controlled. Before you drop $3-500 for an office call at the vet you should try Vizoovet® Perfect Drop. If that doesn't help within about a week you'll need to go to the vet or eye specialist for cyclosporin, tacrolimus, steroids and antibiotics. It's a hefty bill so try the latest technology in topical Ophthalmics first. it's not a drug, is all natural and safe making it the first choice to try. It is the product used for the burn victims with burn injuries to their eyes from the Australian fires for both animals and humans just under different names. A link to the product information is below.
One thing about owners of this group of dogs is never cross them about their pets, they'll rip your throat out. I know, I'm one of them.
Frenchie's are probably the most comical of the dog breeds. They are smarter than most people and intensely loyal. You've all seen the surfing and skateboarding French Bulldogs in Huntington and Long Beach.

It's beyond my comprehension. Why get a dog? That's a pain in the ass. It's not a working dog.
To each his or her own.
