If you're in Del Mar , I always go to Jake's , Il Fornaio and the Fish Market ...

In La Jolla, The Marine Room , literally waves crashing into the restaurant - that was kind of cool - food and ambiance was excellent and the service / waiter attentiveness was awesome...
My only critique about The Marine Room, is the decor seems to be late 90's / early 2000's , and they probably need a face lift by now...

C Level Lounge and Coasterra, both are next to each other on Harbor Island Drive. Good food and ideal places to dine at during the summer because they’re right by the bay and have a great view of San Diego.

On the east side of the 5 freeway, at the Via de la Valle exit, there's a great Breakfast / Lunch place there called Milton's
If you're familiar with Milton's bread that you can get in just about any grocery store, it's their restaurant and they have a full deli and desserts bar inside of the restaurant as well

Beaches:
Pacific Beach - Go down Garnet; like a hippee Melrose Ave that takes you to the water!
Mission Beach - The rollercoaster on the sand
Mission Bay - little southeast of Pacific Beach, near Sea World
Blacks Beach - Nude Beach! North La Jolla right by my alma mater UCSD, Torrey Pines
The more North is more gorgeous beaches
Del Mar - By the racetrack
Encinitas - north
Leucadia - more North
Carlsbad - even further North; almost OC
Love SD
